1. If I ever ask anyone about advice where tools are to be used, can you remind me that I am clueless and should leave well alone? I finally screwed it all together this morning but did not fire it up as I am waiting for the silicone I used to plug the one screw hole which did not seat the T nut properly so it ate out the MDF in the spacer ring to dry.
2.
The late great James Honeyman-Scott https://youtu.be/ZbC8JltxSq8 And an immaculate lesson from Anyone Can Play Guitar https://youtu.be/PRvXTbuVm4s Eight bars of genius
I was thinking of Honeyman-Scott as well. I just listened to your link om Kid and was surprised to hear how Johnny Marr might have picked stuff up from him in the solo. I had not made the connection before. Of course, I could be wrong. I also lpve his playing im "Private Life" of the same album. In fact the whole album stands the test of time superbly. I would post a link to it but I am om my phone so cannot. If you like gritty and tasty then check out the first Pretenders album.
3. Very glad to hear that it has sold. I was persuading myself that I did not need it. I do not need it, but the persuading was not going well.
4. These are lovely cabs and light as a feather.
5. Not to hijack the thread, but I would like to broaden the question. I have a bass with dual J pickups. In 35 years of playing I have not used either pickup individually so it makes sense for me to go for one volume and be done with it. However in the back of my mind I recall that jazz pickups like to be loaded individually by individual pots. If they are loaded differently they still work but sound different. Am I talking garbage here? It would not be the first time.
6. Ritter Princess Isabella tailpiece for inspiration.
7. I know he is moving. He told me that he was not taking new work on until.he had moved. He makes a lovely bass.
8. Been there, done that. They are very nice. I bought it with money left over from my 2nd year university grant. Sorry kids.
9. This will sell when the time is right.
10.
I thought we were going for the Pink Leopard print.. ..
No, that would be vulgar.
11. Obviously the case will have an inset cut to shape and then lined in Leopard print fur.
12. If you have never owned one of these, you owe to yourself to do so once in your life.
Sold an amp to Ross in the smoothest of transactions. True gent! Deal with confidence. Thanks Ross!
Your transaction might have been smooth but I am certain that mine was the smoothest!
15. 1 bid now! An hour to go. Not my bid. If it had a RW board I would be struggling to not bid.
16. I have PM'd about the George L stuff as well.
17. You know what, I could do with a flightcase. What are the internal measurements? As in would it take a Jazz bass? IIRC putting an empty flightcaes onto Hermes is about £10.
18. I am glad to see that they are leaving room for even better Alien bassists. They are cleverly keeping their options open. "A five-time Grammy Award winner and widely recognized as the greatest living bass player in the world"
19. The last thing I need in my life is something that big, but there is a lot of tone in your photos!
20.
Would be a shame to throw it away - I'm sure somebody must want it. What if they arranged their own courier? Would you put it in a heavy duty bin bag?
It's a flight case. It does not need a bin bag. It just needs an address label.
21.
Are the Evah's medium gauge with the green binding? Exactly how much use have they had? Thanks.
I will check tonight. I bought them 2nd hand with "light use". I have done one gig with them and decided they are not for me. I cannot tell you exaclty how much use they have had but they are not at all "knackered" and all the wraps are smooth.
22.
Owen, I just agreed a sale on this minutes before you. I'll let you know if that doesn't go through.
No worries. It was not like I NEEDED it. Like most of the stuff I buy on here!
