1. I had to step outside and have a word with myself about the fact that I do not play 4 strings because I was very close to buying this!
  2.
I bought it for a rack rig idea that I kind of lost interest in. Don't judge me, we've all done it.
Aint that the truth!
  3. Trades? What, like a Lull PT4? Not really thinking of trades, but thanks for asking. I have come to the unexpected position of having all I want. I never thought I would see the day. It is Walnut burl. IIRC!
  4.
Here. Here's your solution. http://youtu.be/HV66fWWzs2c
I am not generally a fan of the metal Balalika scene, but that is kind of floating my boat.
  5.
Seriously thinking about this...
Want it you know you do.
  6. If one of the BCers who are handy with a soldering iron were to bodge a Hypex module into a 1U box we would all buy one. Obviously I have no idea what I am talking about, but the idea is lovely.

It is a PT4. I could be very happy with a PT5 like that.
  8. £650 Pete made me this 5 string Bass Uke some time ago. It is a thing of joy but I am just not using it qand could usefully put the money into a bass guitar I am having extensive work done on at the moment. Pete has said that he will never make another. It is tuned BEADG. I would like £900 for it. I am happy to courier at cost. Yes, the shiny things on the neck are LEDs. Everyone needs a bit of glamour now and again. It has the one vol knob and a tone control on the control plate that needs a screwdriver. It seemed a shame to put more knobs on the front than needed. It has all the hallmarks of a Howlett but with lower notes. It has a Fishman piezo and an East Piezo buffer pre. It sounds like this https://soundcloud.c...ns/howlett-demo Here are some other examples of his work https://www.google.c...YnZAywQ_AUICSgE

It's no good, I want to know model number/name and colour. I will then go and see if I can get it in 5. I will then put it on my ever shrinking GAS list. That is proper lush.
  10.
it is odd isn't it - I wonder how influenced we are by American forums and press that the US versions of our luthiers are revered but ours less so. Some of it is the size of marked I guess - but if I compared Sei to Fodera, or overwater to sadowsky would I find a massive difference in the end product?
We are all guilty of shopping withour eyes instead of our ears. I as much as anyone. I am happier than I have ever been since moving to five strings, but I still fancy trying a recent Sadowsky 5.
  11. Make sure that you factor in your behind the bridge saddle length and your behind the nut length. I did not and it got expensive.

That is a fine looking axe.
  13. I used a Chevin A3000 (bridged at 3Kw into 8 ohms) into and Eden 410xlt when I was younger. Obv I never turned it up full, but the headroom, low frequency extension and general grunt was a thing of joy. What a machine.
  14. BRX - this might be your telecaster
  15.
Imagine a Fender Precision battered to within an inch of total destruction, but still (just) playable.
I can dig that.
  16.
That along with the Baz Extravaganza Punk Rock Bass are the only Fender-esque instruments I'd consider playing.
<rushed off to google a Baz Extravaganza Punk Rock Bass but found nothing>
  17. I am not in the market but reckon that this is one of the tasty early cabs and that you might be underselling it by just calling it a cab.
  18. Ugh. I am going to have to back out due to a family situation. I am really sorry (and gutted). To add insult to injury I had to watch Wales lose while waiting with the injured party on A+E. Ho hum. If there is any hint of a loss I will chuck £10 into the coffers.
  19.
I'm not running sequences - but it means I can remotely change patches and have it in a remote looper... all via MIDI. Don't know if you have seen the Katy Perry and Kemper video - they run the whole lot on a sequence, with all the patch changes for both the guitarists (one on Kemper, one on Axe FX if I recall) and all the keyboards changes from that sequence.
When I grow up that is how my rig will be.
  20.
Hang on, I didn't think you could do remote changes via MIDI...! This could change things...
If you are running sequences behind your band then you can just have the sequencer make the changes as and when you like.
  21. Sorry, it has gone. This is the danger of selling stuff in several different places at the same time.
  22.
My first one also - not really sure what to expect. Any seasoned bass bashers care to share what we're in for?
We will all cruise around looking at things that we cannot see anywhere else but online. We will realise that "the thing" that we thought we needed is actually no better than what we have. Or our worst fears will be confirmed and we will be selling everything we own to buy "the one". Basschat Live really.
  23. I am afraid it did. Sorry, I get so happy when I make a sale that I forget to finish the thread off properly. I do have a Tour Bus version (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audio/jamhub-tourbus-7-section-system-with-recording) which would be quite a bit more expensive.
