In a dangerous fit of GAS I have bought one of these. It is a set up which enables you to access any of Nuenaber's pedal software and step through 4 of them. What initially attracted me was the Seraphim pedal which gives a really cool halo kind of thing to notes using reverb and pitch shift. I then realised that the slate pedal gives you 4 pedals in one and 2 presets on each pedal. The Seraphim works very nicely with Double Bass arco work. The sustainer aspect of another voice looks interesting but I need to tweak it. I might have to read the manual. I have never found a chorus that works for me. This one does. I can load the Seraphim into 2 banks so have 4 different settings of that and then a bank of 2 sustains and a bank of 2 choruses. If you want to check.out the Seraphim then go onto Youtube and search for the Knobs channel and look at their review. It is a great channel anyway. You all probably knew this but I was excited and wanted to tell someone Edited so that I can actually spell the name of the company correctly.

Thanks Ped, I guessed it was you. I think the plans I picked up in the links above should see me right, but I appreciate the offer.

I am totally interested in pics!
What happens if you actually want to move around on stage, or are they not for stage use?
I have never ever been hired for my dynamic stage presence so that is not an issue for me
Interesting concept, Owen. I have no thoughts or ideas to contribute, I'm afraid, but very interested to see how this progresses.
I tend to find that my thought process percolates over a period rather than all kicking in at once. If I do things on the spur of the moment then I usually have a period afterwards of thinking "Ah, I should have done it a different way" so I am looking to the BC Massive to tell me if I have missed anything. I don't think I have, but experience tells me I probably have!

Does this have a fan?

But most of them are like philosophers. TIme is an abstract concept.

Inspired by the sale of a Pleasureboard here a couple of days ago I got all excited about owning one. I did some forum searches and it appears that they can generate that "heft" that I crave (I do not want to get into discussions about heft here) but can no longer experience to the full due to hearing damage. Wear earplugs kids - thank me in 20 years when you can still play bass. I looked at the prices and thought "that is do-able, I am having one". Then I realised that I need an amp to drive it. That was going to be another £300 minimum - or more if I wanted a specific Pleasureboard amp (I know that they are now called bassboards). This was becoming more expensive. I then trawled back through my BC memory and remembered someone referencing DIY ones. I eventually tracked this down to Bigwan (Ian) who dug up some links to a German Bass board with threads about it. https://www.bassic.ch/threads/bass-shaker-platte-selbst-gemacht.14849010/ https://www.bassic.ch/threads/review-tecamp-pleasure-board.14840638/ https://www.bassic.ch/threads/bass-shaker-board-es-ist-vollbracht.14793371/#post-14793371 If your German is not up to it, view these in Chrome and Chrome will offer to translate it for you. Even then they still need an amp to drive them and I do not have a spare amp as my cabs are powered. "Why are they not active?" I thought. I then realised that I can put a plate amp either from a donor active sub (I will try with a Studiospares active sub to see) with a knackered speaker, or just buy a dedicated plate amp http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/371778206784?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT . I only have one build which is unfinished on here at the moment so feel I could have another running project. Can anyone think of problems or improvements? Ta, like.

Again, thanks everyone for chipping in. I love this place.

Hmmmm....... smaller speaker options again. The Faital 8pr200 was suggested by BOTB. Any suggestions on a 10"? Of course, if I need ports I can actually get someone who knows what they are doing to cut them. By a spacer ring do you mean just a circular piece of something to make the hole smaller for a smaller driver and seal it properly? I am not looking for ULTIMATE VOLUME from a small box, I have a bigger box to do that. I would not object to enhanced LF extension compared to the stock driver if it is possible. Again, thanks to all who are contributing.

If you are umming and ahing about the value then everyone who would buy it from you later on will be as well. It is there, but not there. Bravewood will make you one. I had an original 66 Jazz and a Bravewood 63 P. They both scratched exaxtly the same itch for me.

Thanks Phil and Stevie! Phil did very clearly state that I should return to the original. I just cannot stop myself from tinkering. I have two basses with a full piezo + nice buffer pre-amp in them. I never ever use the piezo. I knew this when I put it into the 2nd one, but I just cannot stop myself. It is like a disease. I am still in two minds about the speaker. The amp itself will never be a LF monster but it is fun to look at options.

While waiting for my wife and daughter to exhaust the joys of Trafford Park shopping centre I wondered into the John Lewis electronics section. I have never considered noise cancelling cans before but as my tinnitus gets worse I do not like being in noisy situations. I tried to some on and was thrilled with the lack of noise! I do not need them for critical at home listening because I have a pair of Beyer DT770 which are fine and dandy, but the idea of noise cancelling was DEEPLY attractive for out and about. I tried the Bose 35 something or other, a pair of Beyers and the top of the range Sonys. The Sonys seemed to suit me best (and I guess that is the answer which counts) for silence and music reproduction, but I was wondering if anyone else has any experience?

J and Lizzie are some of our favourites! We do not live at your end but have stayed with them so must have passed Chez Phil at some stage. We met them when they were in Bangor in University. The GK does not owe me anything so I might just treat it to a better speaker. The one thing that did come up in the last thread where this was asked was - "The speakers in these are more like giant hi-fi speakers - they've got foam surrounds and about 3cm of cone travel". Would that be an issue if I used the 3012HO instead? Sorry, I understand enough about speakers/boxes to get myself into trouble, but not enough to get me out of trouble.
