1.
Now peeps, I need your advice. I want to do binding, cos I’m funny like that.
Binding is ALWAYS lush. How about some Bird's Eye Maple binding? I have some on a Faith acoustic and it is subtle yet classy. You cannot really see the detail from the front, but then you see it from the side when you play and you get that warm feeling inside. Of course, I have no idea how much extra work this would be or any of that tedious detail stuff. If not I would go with the Ivory stuff. Black seems pretty hard. Obv YYMV!
2.
I have a korg desktop tuner and a cheap and cheerful 14 quid one. Both as good as each other.
I was wrong. The cheap one did not play nicely on my board last week on a theatre gig. It whined when on and when off. Not a huge whine but we were all on cans and it was commented on by the rest. My Korg one was fine. I stand corrected.
3. My friend went to buy a DB from a guy in Bristol. I went with her. He mentioned that he was in a band. Again The Wurzles raise their heads in this thread. I bought an Eden 410XLT ex demo from The Gallery. Meshell N'degeocello had used it on a gig. Obviously it made me supremely funky. Edit - ohohoh! James Demeter quoted a post of mine on TB.
4. The Low B is a lovely cab......... <sigh>.............. "To all the cabs I've loved before......... that've travelled in and out my door......."
5. I just picked up a Chinese Tele/Gretsh thing for £230. I will post a pic when I can work out what to use instead of photobucket
6. I feel your 6 string pain. It freaked me out as well!
7. I not only do not gig it but I have not played it for years. I SHOULD sell it...... .
8. Cafe Walter pre-amp! That takes me back!
9. You only have to listen to the breadth of L42 material to realise that MK can do it all on bass. I just do not understamd why people love to have a pop at him. When I grow up I want to be touring on a regular basis playing whatever I want from my extensive back catalogue. Most of us would.
10. I do not WANT to sound stupid, but is that software for the floor unit or the guitar?

I biamped an SM400 through an early Turbosound PA cab. 2x15 on the bottom and 2x10+compression driver on top. I will never make a sound like that again. It was epic.
12. I have one with a P pickup put in the MM spot. No single coil. I like it a lot.
13. I played one 15 years ago. My head still hurts.
14. Sonically no. There is no denying that the physical work surface of the qu16 is very convenient, but the convenience of a 4U box amd no multicore tip it for me.
15. Same software. Same goodness. 4U rack amd that is it. Apart from missing the child like joy I always get from flying faders there is nothing not to love.
16. The Low Achiever.
17. Wilkes used to do slap plate at the end of a fretless fingerboard. I need to get out more.
18. I had some work done on my DB last summer. The guy said it was the nicest piece of ebony he had ever worked on. It just peeled of uniformly under his plane. I am not convinced I got £800 of extra tone from the whole thing, but that is another story. It was more than just planing the fingerboard.
19. That is a fine looking axe.
20. It works remarkably well. I would not go fighting with a drummerbut I never expected that. The sound it does make is balanced all the way down and it makes me happy.
