Thanks for the practical thoughts, however "cutting it back to a radius that suits you" tells me that we clearly live at opposite ends of the woodworking food chain I even have to get my father in law to put shelves up for me However it is a fun project which will cost me approx £30 so I cannot resist trying it. The point about longer strings makes sense. I will measure up before cutting anything. Thanks
...and I'm not sure I do understand what you are planning to do....or how.
I am aiming to take the fingerboard and nut off the DB, cut the fingerboard down and glue it onto the present fingerboard of the Uke. I will need a curved bridge so will cut that down and shape it so that it will sit in the slot that the present bridge sits in so that I can use the piezo. This will give me a small EUB. In theory.
I Inderstand what you're planning to do but I'm not sure why you're doing it!
Because I can! Actually, we will see about that. I like playing with my right hand in the DB position and thought this would be an interesting experiment as the bass Uke does give a DB-esque thud.
4. I saw Moving Hearts live in Caernarfon during the filming for a Welsh TV series. It was one of the best gigs I have ever seen - they had it all, including a superb bassist. They had a female singer with them who did not seem to be with them when I hunted their stuff down afterwards. Just superb.

I have a Thoman Deco Uke Bass which works fine and dandy I have a DB which has seen MUCH better days - check the screw hole in the fingerboard and the neck I have the bridge What I fancy doing is taking the fingerboard and nut off the DB and slapping them onto the the fingerboard on the Uke. I also will cut the bridge up so that it will slot into where the present bridge lies on the piezo pickup. What could possibly go wrong? I am open to suggestions. Please pile in as I have NO expereince doing this stuff but just want to try it. I mean, how hard can it be? I reserve the right to take an AWFULLY long time doing it. Thanks to Scojack for the name idea a long time ago.
6. I have. It is a lovely piece of kit. The eq is very responsive making it really easy to dial in what you want, especially with the movable frequency points. They make it able to fit your instrument nicely. 2 channel presets means that gigging 2 different instruments is easy peasy. It is really well thought out and the fact that Bergantino have already produced a software upgrade means that they are clearly working the design. It is has plenty of grunt and is light as a feather. All this added to the fact that I have had truly exceptional customer service from Bergantino makes me a fan.
7. Joshua Redman Elastic Band. Lovely keys bass.
8. Cannot remember what it is called but small TC comp is great. Endlessly tweakable in software and one knob for the gig.
9. I tried an MB200 with a notoriously ineficient cab. It ran out of puff very quickly indeed whereas the MB500 just carried on giving. Obviously the One10 is a different scenario but the 500 was LOADS better in headroom and delivery
10. I gigged an MB500 Fusion with an fdeck in front of it. It was fine and dandy.
11. Uke bass. Fine and dandy. End of.
12.
I'm happy to do a bit on bowing in general, and specifically French bow, although I have played with a German bow and still have a couple somewhere
You are booked.
13. If anyone wants to have a beginners session on bowing then I would be happy to do German bowing. Anyone want to introduce French bowing?

16. There is no inner sanctum. If there were I would by default be in it cos I am one of the organisers. My wife finds the idea of me and organiser in the same sentence endlessly amusing. It will never be a huge event. The vibe is relaxed. It will be full of comments like "Gut strings? Can I try them? Crazy.", and 'So that is what my bass sounds like through a stack of 4 x PJB 4x5 cabs." Life is too short for anything else. There will be no extreme slapping (but possibly a bit of RnR action). Chris, we would love you to be there with us.
17. There will be loads of playing each other's basses. The preamp stuff will only happen when we have all played everything at least twice!
18. I have no possible use for this. So why am I drawn to it? Gartone kit is top end boutique. This is bargainous.
19. So, we are going to our own bespoke thread in the events section. Anyone else interested in this event? What should we organise as activities? Etc etc etc
20. And if it is cash then always count it in front of whoever pays you.
21.
On a wild whim, I don't suppose there are any Basschatters in possession of an aluminium (or, quite possibly, aluminum) double bass?
That is my last remaining DB GAS. I would polish that thing to within an inch of it's life.
22. Is there anything that the BC Masif does not know? Thanks, I shall go and harrass them.
23. Thanks for these. I was hoping for ones which would accept either 215s or noise reduction filters depending on the circumstances.
