I have been around the block with more basses than I care to admit to on a public forum. I have a Shuker now and have stopped looking at the Basses for Sale forum. It is an odd feeling, but I am getting used to it.

I use a Qu 32 and it is proper lush. The only thing I miss about the Mackie DL1608 we had before is that the Mackie would let up to 10 iPads/iPods/iPhones control it so that there could be several of these on stage for individual monitor mixes. The Qu will only let me use 1 device. Is this it or am I missing something?

invicta59. Zeller Bass, K&K pickup, GK amp and Fearless F112. Maybe also Tricky Audio 'Greenboy' cabs, and possibly a Tricky Audio builder (Guy) I am sure Guy is very cool and if he rolls in that will be very cool. However, if there are more Greenboy cabs to mess with that would be very cool as well

I have just picked up a 2nd hand Harley Benton 335. The pickups might be lush, but they are probably not. Is there any point in rewinding them or should I just pick up a 2nd hand pair of decent pickups?

Now it does not sound like an upright fretless. -
The braided and honey ones bow fine and dandy. For obvious reasons the Rockabillys bow horribly.

I do not need another bass so should not even be looking but that is as nicely a grained body as I have seen on a P. If I was looking for a P that would probably be it. -

I saw SRV back in the day. I have not played a Dumble but his was so loud that the rhythm section were reduced to bit part players.

Is the wiring on the Sandberg correct? It sounds like there might be a phase issue.

The event is in The Risely Park. I imagine it has been booked by BassAce in his own name as a private function so they would look confused if you mentioned a Double Bass Bash. I hope that clarifies

Based on using one and an A&H analogue desk with the same rig I am not convinced that the Mackie delivers proper grownup line level. I have never seen anything about it online but I always have to whack the vol up on the speakers with the Mackie.

Yet again I come to realise that fretless is just not for me. This is a Mexican Jazz that a student of mine bought a Fender Mexican fretless neck to put on it. It does all the things a fretless does including, for me, playing out of tune. This never fails to amaze me becaue I am a DB player and intonation is not an issue on that but I have never "got" fretlesses. I am now old enough to know bette, but that never seems to stop me trying. Ho hum. I will throw the sticker on the back in as a free gift cos I am good that way.
