1.
Suggestion? Gold machine heads instead of black? Perhaps swapping wooden pegs for the black like Bernie (Goodfellow) does on his?
Thread derail! Can anyone point me at somewhere that would do wooden pegs. I love my bass but hate the machine head buttons.
  2.
Did TC buy this rig? And if he did, did he pay full retail?
What difference would that make? I don't see anyone asking the same of Ampeg/Fender/Boogie/Monique etc etc etc users. Alex has a high profile user using his kit. Good luck to him.
  3. ............... you guys!.............
  4. Anyone know anything about these? They look very lovely. I am aware that there is more to a piece of kit than how it looks. https://www.facebook...?type=3

    N Sadowsky BD
That's lovely! Always fancied a Sadowsky (even took time out on honeymoon in NYC to visit with the man himself!) but just never pulled the trigger...
I took a 3 hour detour during our honeymoon to pick up a MM5. My wife still smiles when she thinks of it. OK, she does not.
  6.
Steve Barr/Dudepit did some
Not wanting to derail the thread but THAT was a blast from the past. Whatever happened to him?

    bassfan's feedback

I paid, it arrived the day afterwards. Just fabulous.
  8.
More importantly, the fretted is fine on G and A, appreciably louder on D and sadly quieter on E. I presume it is time to take the bridge saddle off?
I took the bridge saddle off and retrieved a small strip of metal from under the piezo element then screwed it all back up. The G and E were fine and dandy but the D and A vanished. I then put the small metal strip over the piezo element under the D and A. It is now OK but it is too late for me to turn the volume up to a level that drowns the acoustic volume to check properly. That would go down like a bucket of cold sick as the rest of the house is asleep.
  9. I had no idea that I was that attached to dot placement!
  10. There are fret lines on the side but a dot on fret 3/5/7 etc it is a bit disconcerting! More importantly, the fretted is fine on G and A, appreciably louder on D and sadly quieter on E. I presume it is time to take the bridge saddle off?
  11. UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! So glad I did not see this. I would have done something very stupid that I could not have afforded.
  12. Ukes arrived today. The fretless has the side dots (where there would be side dots) where the fret lines would go. What is that about?
  13. For whoever buys a Uke bass next time, remember to buy a case for it as well Cheap and cheerful - http://www.thomann.de/gb/thomann_gigbag2_classic_12_bk.htm?ref=search_prv_1_1 Or nicer - http://www.thomann.de/gb/thomann_gigbag1_classic_1_2_bk_2.htm?ref=search_prv_3_1
  14.
http://www.thomann.d...ulel_deko_2.htm Deco Uke's, fretless and fretted £36 plus p&p
Not any more. Thanks
  15. Approx £540. That is a very fine price for what looks like a nice piece of kit.
  16. Bartokian Pizzicato - a term which instructs string performers to play a pizzicato note to pull the string away from the fingerboard so that it snaps back percussively on the fingerboard. http://www.imusicdictionary.com/definition.php?term=bartok%20pizzicato
  17.
beyond the 4th fret.
What are you doing playing ANY string above the 4th fret? Where is your dignity?
  18.
I ask you all though... Does the audience even notice?
The audience have no clue, but if I go for a low note and it just does not "happen" then it makes me REALLY sad inside and puts me right off. Having said all this, I am actually planning for a full scale 6 string fretted EUB with a bottom F# (with a detuner obv). My NS5 EUB sounds pretty fabulous through a big PA system I REALLY love LF!
  19.
Interesting... Are they tuned with a low B?
You cannot spell Bass with a B! My problem with non 35" basses for a very long time was that the B did not sound like an organic part of the instrument. It was almost like an aftermarket body kit on a car. You knew it was super cool (!) but it did not seem to sit well with the rest of the car. Both my 33" are strung with a B. They do not sound like a 35" but then the rest of the instrument does not either. For me, with these basses, I can play below E and not get cross inside because the tone changes.
  20. I used to be 35" (MTD, Ritter, Sei, Lakland blah blah blah blah) all the way and then I fell into a 33" Shuker Uberhorn and I now have two 33" 5 strings and could not be happier. I have no bass guitar GAS at all for the first time in about 30 years. It is all very odd
  21. I am feeling a bit light headed at the moment because I went onto youtube to hear these things. They sound really good. I will try some. However the video I watched was of a guy playing left handed with upsidedown strings. I can handle left handed but the upsidedown strings made everything wobbly in my head. He played lovely stuff though.
  22.
I don't even play guitar and i want it,absolutely stunning have a bump
You and all the rest of us!
  23. In the HUGELY unlikely event that this has not gone, I will take it!
