1.
Early days, but let's start a list. 1. Bassace. Bryant Solo DB, Felix preamp, Puma 500 amp, Crazy 8 or OneTen cab.
It had better be the OneTen. No pressure.
2. Nope. I said it was a hotel to see if everyone was concentrating.
3. The Risely Hall looks lovely, but it is actually the Risely Park. http://www.therisleypark.co.uk/
4. Virtually unused DBX driverack - Crossover/Graphic EQ/Parametric EQ/Auto EQ/Limiter/Alignment delay/Feedback eliminator/Compressor/RTA Complete EQ and crossover so that your speakers can sound as good as possible. Programmable so that you can recall settings as you go back into the same room 6 months later.
5. So, we are going for Oct 2nd. What do people want to see happening? Apart from looking at more DB kit in one place than aywhere else in the UK, obviously. I am thinking possible short workshops on stuff like intro to Jazz (big topic), intro to Classical, using a bow, intro to Rockabilly. No more than 15 minutes a pop really. This kind of thing after lunch and before lunch wondering around playing different strings/amps etc etc etc. What else? It will be what we make it to be. Perhaps my luthier idea further up the page would be too time consuming.
6.
What she said. Just been through this with bows - and the bow I had wasn't cheap
I played with a really good bow once. I had to step away very quickly.
7. Double Bass means double the goodness! Or perhaps just carrying more bulk around. Anyway, there will be a DB bash in Derby (as central as poss) on Oct 2nd. Risley Park Hotel, Derby, not far from M1 Junction 25. This will be open to all DB players, obv, but also if you like the idea of DBs but have never had a chance to get stuck in then roll up and try your hand. We are all friendly. There is a thread here http://basschat.co.uk/topic/283160-double-bass-bash/ to post ideas and stuff.
8. I have just bought one. It is all good. It also includes enough Velcro to set up 3 full boards!
9. This is all well and good, but I need a website. I cannot find one. Yes, I tried google.
10.
To be fair that whole band sounds fantastic but that's a rhythm section I could listen to all day.
There is an hour and a half of it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWa-PS2cRg4
11. Can I vote for the 2nd then?
12. I have a Firecreek 33" 5 with a lovely low B.
13.
Aguilar AG 5J-60
I have a set of these in a bass. They are beyond lush.
14. I'm feeling it. It cannot possibly have been three years ago. What would people like to see happening in it? I would love to have a tame luthier on hand to tweak and advise and stuff. I guess this could be funded by each individual paying whatever their fee was for the time spent with them. Dunno, just thinking.
15. Just as well that I do not go for YOB basses as that is 3 days off my birthday.
16. IIRC he was a fusion monster and then realised that fusion was not going to pay the bills. I probably read that on here somewhere. I could be wrong.

Tele rebuild

That is one FINE looking axe. I love the binding thing.
19. I hate editors. I always get lost. And then regret starting. I installed the editor. It works. I have no idea what to do with it. I then went to here https://drive.google...E&usp=drive_web and downloaded each folder to a folder on my computer. You have to open the page in Google drive and then right click on the folders with sounds and download them. If you open one folder from the FI then the FI will step through each patch in that folder so you do not keep having to load new sounds. I have collected 80 sounds which seem like they would be useful from amongst all these. I have put the patches for them all in one folder and then will whack them onto the FI. I am very proud of myself. Tragic but there you go. I am only writing this to encourage people to get stuck in. There are some really good sounds in there if you audition them all. Many are much more useful than the stock sounds.
