1. I use super glue when the blisters are on the way. Put a blob on a piece of paper and rub the area which will blister into it. It last for about 3 hours of "normal" playing, prob a bit less on slapping. It has saved me from blisters many, many times.
2.
Anyone developed an interest in an Enfield? http://bassdirect.co...t_standard.html
If they have they had better be quick because it looks as if it is getting out of the case on it's own in the last pic of that link.
3. To your door. You know what this is and you know that they no longer make them.
4. I have two basses with Mag/piezo options and am using East piezo things. They buffer nicely and offer a passive HF roll off which is all I have found I need on the EQ front. I have some mind bendinlgly expensive Ghost saddles in one bass and a cheap and cheerful Ebay special piezo bridge - there is no discernable difference.
5.
Would you sell the btc seperately? Ta
That is what everyone wants to know! I would like to sell them as a set cos I am .......... sentimental that way. Obviously if they do not shift as a set then I will split them. I am afraid there is queue formed already for the BTC.
6. And seems to be missing the volume pot so I will knock off £5.
7. Thanks It is names I have been needing. I have dropped him an email about a visit later in the year.
I reckoned Laurence Dixon would be the man;
8. This is all stuff I agree with, but who do you use?
9. Not my day. I have just put a set of TI Powerbass strings on the same bass. I had been saving them for the right occasion. This was not it. Comedy short B string again. Cannot even slice silk off as the windings begin to taper before the nut.
10. It turns out the set on a 35" scale feels like solid rods of steel so they are coming of in the next 10 minutes and going on a 33".
11. I often wonder about set up stuff. I am happy with how mine plays, but there is always that nagging thought that runs "I wonder if it could be even better". The trouble is that I live in luthier desert so am unlikely to ever get to know.
12. I have just put a set of La Bella 0760M (Jamerson ones, dontchyaknow) on a 35" scale bass. G,D,A and B are fine and dandy. E is 1.5cm short with the silk protruding over the nut. It goes to tension and all that, but I just wonder why the rest of the set are fine and this is not? How I laughed.
13. These are from the last century and are a perfectly good set of EMGs which I no longer need.
14. Sadly, you are correct. People mutter about how cool it would be to try some of it. It would be a horrible car crash. But thanks Tobie for the list. Where in Manchester?
There's probably not much like that happening at your local chapel.
15.
Is that the ghost of a double neck guitar that can be seen on the lid's foam?
Ugh! So vulgar! Actually, I have no idea what it is, but it is not that
16. I am in Bangor, North Wales. If it was happening around here I would know about it! I was just wondering about pointers to places in London or Brum where it is happening, for future reference for me or for anyone else reading the thread really.
17. Could anyone nane actual specific churches where this is happening? I was in that London recently and ready to find a service with Gospel music in it but just could not.
18. Chuck offers at me. Let's get this into a loving home/garage/van.
19. Sorry Derek, it has gone. But I could do you the mother of all flight cases for the same money!
