1. This is all stuff I agree with, but who do you use?
2. Not my day. I have just put a set of TI Powerbass strings on the same bass. I had been saving them for the right occasion. This was not it. Comedy short B string again. Cannot even slice silk off as the windings begin to taper before the nut.
3. It turns out the set on a 35" scale feels like solid rods of steel so they are coming of in the next 10 minutes and going on a 33".
4. I often wonder about set up stuff. I am happy with how mine plays, but there is always that nagging thought that runs "I wonder if it could be even better". The trouble is that I live in luthier desert so am unlikely to ever get to know.
5. I have just put a set of La Bella 0760M (Jamerson ones, dontchyaknow) on a 35" scale bass. G,D,A and B are fine and dandy. E is 1.5cm short with the silk protruding over the nut. It goes to tension and all that, but I just wonder why the rest of the set are fine and this is not? How I laughed.
6. These are from the last century and are a perfectly good set of EMGs which I no longer need.
7. Sadly, you are correct. People mutter about how cool it would be to try some of it. It would be a horrible car crash. But thanks Tobie for the list. Where in Manchester?
There's probably not much like that happening at your local chapel.
8.
Is that the ghost of a double neck guitar that can be seen on the lid's foam?
Ugh! So vulgar! Actually, I have no idea what it is, but it is not that
9. I am in Bangor, North Wales. If it was happening around here I would know about it! I was just wondering about pointers to places in London or Brum where it is happening, for future reference for me or for anyone else reading the thread really.
10. Could anyone nane actual specific churches where this is happening? I was in that London recently and ready to find a service with Gospel music in it but just could not.
11. Chuck offers at me. Let's get this into a loving home/garage/van.
12. Sorry Derek, it has gone. But I could do you the mother of all flight cases for the same money!
13. And then I went to see if they are available as aftermarket pickups. They are. But look at the bass in this video. G&L ASAT I presume. SHINYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
14.
Really....,?
I agree, I have a Bass with 1 x P and 2 x J coils. If I could have worked out how to put a MM thing as well I would have done without even thinking twice about it.
15. http://www.thomann.d...ue[0]=Harley%20Benton Follow that link and then choose Harley Benton on the side of the page. For some reason I cannot link directly. I have just bought a 60XL one and it is great. Sadly too big for me so it is going back, but it is great!
16. Body cavity 47cm at longest point, 29cm accross at smallest point. Overall inside length is 118cm. I have cut out a bit of the center bit to get the top horn of a Precision in. It will not take a Jazz. It was built for a Reverend Bass (in bug eye chrome - just fabulous!). I am guesstimating 6cm inside, but difficult to tell without climbing in and closing it on myself. I am too fat to do that. If what you are considering is P shaped or smaller then you will be OK, but anything bigger will bring sadness. There is not much worse than buying something and then it not functioning the way you had promised yourself it would
17.
Mouse my arse!
Jack, I think you might want to consider using more punctuation I will measure it now.
