  1. This link is extraordinarily dangerous. https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/STORMGUITAR?ref=l2-about-shopname&section_id=33103571&page=1#items&ref_login_action=favorite-shop
  2. My problem is that I sometimes play with the world's greatest Rhodes player (this is arguable, but he is awesome). I once watched him selling a bottom of the pile Yamaha home keyboard 30 years ago. He made the Rhodes on it sound like the real thing. It was so unfair to the people he was selling to - there is no way they would EVER manage to get that performance out of it. I am at peace with the noise I make on bass, but every time I fancy a bit of Rhodes improvement, I just think "what is the point - John will always trump me"
  3. I bought one of those small Yamaha doobries for lush Rhodes noises. Only to realise that if I cannot actually play keys then it is all for naught.
  4. The left hand at the beginning of this is proper lush I am not sure what they are aiming for here. I LOVE a wobbly moving Rhodes more than nearly anyone else on the planet, but this is giving me motion sickness.
  5. Dunno. On screen the proportions were as we love them. But that scroll!
  6. I wish I had understood where the income streams were before my mid 30s. I just did not consider the whole royalties thing. I am not sure why. I wish I had had more confidence to write. I did not because I knew that lyrics and singing were not for me and I had no idea where people found melodies. I have now started and am hugely enjoying doing instrumental stuff.
  7. The proportions are a bit weird but that is due to to the angle of my phone and the TV screen. The bass itself looked bog standard until I looked up.
  8. I was watching the Gwyl Gerdd Dant last night on TV. It is a big Welsh langauge cultural festival celebrating the amateur music making which is a backbone of Welsh culture. There were some genuinely great choral singing moments. However, a 3 piece came on and the DB made me feel a bit queasy. Have I just led a sheltered life or is this totally out there?
  9. I have one of these to put on a bass. I bought it 2nd hand and it has come without the really small flat-headed screw which actually secures the unit to the headstock. It has to be flat-headed so as not to get in the way of the sliding plates. I cannot be the first person to be in this situation. Has anyone managed to source one in B&Q or another hardware supplier?
  10. Same tuning, different instruments.
  11. That song is the product of a sick mind. I love it. Imagine a world where you are normalising really extended stuff for children with top drawer singers instead of Apple Loops.
  12. Andertons had a blue one which was clearly not shifting so they sold it for about £1100.
  13. Ooft. Orange. 5/5 from me as well.
  14. I have their Belgian show on in the background. MUCH respect to Vincent.
  15. Not a proper bass solo. No over-reliance on the pentatonic. What was he thinking?
  16. When I played it against my 66J, to all intents and purposes, they were neck and neck.
  17. I used to own this very bass. It is all you ever desired in a vintage Jazz apart from the eywatering price of old things.
  18. I am glad there people who can do this kind of stuff.
