1. I bought this here cos I fancied trying it. It is not my flavour. Nothing wrong with it but it was not for me. Link to original sale for pics http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry2823103
2. Aha! Even I can manage that! Thanks.
3.
I've done exactly that trick with some headphones taped around the headstock...great feedback at bedroom levels The circuit from diy fever should work, in theory. I think you'd need to tweak it a bit.
i what way tweak it? Ta
4. This is A LOT of cab for that kind of money.
5. I could happily absorb a Big Al 5 into the house as well.
6. Cement cleaner in a tupperware box (other brands are avaiable). Machine heads in a smaller open box (Chinese takeaway). Smaller box into bigger box. Close lid on bigger box. Leave for an hour. Take machine heads out. Put in cardboard box. Shake for 5 seconds. Job done. Easay peasy.
7. The ones I have been to are usually mid morning to late afternoonish.
8. Sounds like one of my late night threads. The later I start the less likely the scenario is likely to happen in the cold light of day.
9. And then I realised that I had lent it to a student so I am afraid I will not be able to do this for a few days. Sorry.
10. You are correct, the spike thing would be instead of the solid stand and the instrument is free to move around then. The arm things allow you to "balance" the bass against your body as you would with a DB.
11. I have a fretted one. I like being able to move it between DB and Plank orientation depending on song. I have not noticed a huge issue playing it horizontally, but I will try again to see.
12. Thanks for the review. A couple of the HB ones have passed through my hands and they were fine but my Kala was much nicer. These look significantly more Kalaesque.
13.
You guys seen THIS yet?
I am LIKING that!
14. You are all probably following the thread on TB, but if not, it appears that the NAMM model has been left with a Berg dealer who has written that it will happily drive 2 x 4ohm cabs "The minimum factory is 4ohm. If you dig into the menu there is an option for 2.67 and 2ohm as well. I have personally run it on the 2ohm setting with 2 (4ohm) CN212 cabinets and I can honestly say it may be one of the best sounding bass rigs."
15. If not sold please get in touch with me.
16. Where is THE TONE? In proper power stages. This is a proper power stage.
17. There is nothing I would change about my DB (which is odd given my insatiable plank GAS) but a tasty set of those machines would be very lovely indeed. I have always hankered after a REALLY tasty set of machine heads.
18.
Mr Swift using a Roscoe Beck V? The last I saw in a magazine he was sporting a Sadowsky 5 string P type in an Aguilar ad.
I am sure Dave has multiple options
19. Are those power ratings into 4 Ohms? If so, I will take this if it is available. Thanks.
20. I also think you need the thing in the first pic. It works with a strap. It means you can get all Tony Levin and wander around with it on your shoulder while throwing shapes on stage.
21. GuyR - maybe you did, maybe you did not. We need pictures otherwise we will never know for sure
22. A J and a P with a J nut. In matching Sonic Blue/white. Or Oly White/tort. Or Black/tort. Or Sunburst/tort. The irony is that I NEVER play 4 strings and should probably sell the J and P I do own.
23. I now have Bravewood order GAS.
