1. His facebook suggests he was going to use a Delano pickup first but changed his mind. I have asked how much.
2. It is a Nuvo by R.Hyde Guitars. It popped up on my Facebook feed and I thought "I know a group of people who would like to see this". https://www.facebook.com/rhydeguitars

4. I have a student who is broke but needs a set of strings. Does anyone have a mature set of any Innovation strings they would do for £50?
5.
I learned the Lets Dance line a few years ago. The notes are really uncomplicated but I think you need a really solid drummer who knows what they're doing to be able to pull them off. There is so much groove in the bass line.
If Tony Thompson was sitting in the drum chair (he was) then solid is GO!
6. It depends if it actually works!

Jazz

They were gracious together. The P was a Bravewood with a 63P scratchplate. It completely scratched all the same itches as my 66J. I could happily live with a Bravewood Jazz instead of the 66J, but I cannot quite make the move to actually flog it. My wife has told me that I am not allowed to. The Bravewood also taught me that I do not like P nut widths so it went.

Jazz
Our basses might have been twins at first I don't think Fender made a white Jazz without matching headstock at the time.
They would have been triplets. I have a Jan 66 Dot/Bound sunburst as well. Excuse the P pic. I no longer own that.
9. You used google. That is cheating! So did I as it happens but nothing came up.
10. Looks nice. What is the damage?
11. I have kept different pre-amps because they sounded nice with different basses. On their own. In a room. As soon as a bunch of noisy gits turn up then those subtle nuances just disappear. Sell sell sell. YMMV
12. You already have an exceptionally nice power amp in your Demeter. You could even set up a footswitch to toggle between the Demeter pre-amp and the Ampeg preamp on the gig.
13. Sell both. If you want more dirt then put something in front of the Demeter. If the Demeter ever dies then borrow something to cover the downtime. It is not as if the Demeter is a flaky piece of kit.
14. Thanks everyone for input so far. I will certainly not be doing this myself as I am tech clueless, but I have a friend who is more than up to the task. As it happens he is using the amp recommended in this project https://www.facebook.com/TheJAMJaramps?pnref=story
15. So would a bass just need a bigger amplifier?
16. http://diy-fever.com/misc/diy-sustainer/ I am tech clueless. Would a beefy one of these work for bass? Have I just embarrassed myself?
17.
I know of someone who had a Sustainiac installed into his custom Shuker bass and it worked but he later had it removed.
Uh oh! Just a bog standard guitar sustainer pickup?
18.
Noticed a couple of dekos BZ-6000 http://www.thomann.d...000_nt_deko.htm 5 string fretless http://www.thomann.d...essive_deko.htm Can't say how long they've been up.
I had one of the BZ-6000 basses. It was a nice enough instrument but heavier than a small planet.
19. The festival is obviously being "run" by comedians. Utterly clueless.
20.
Good result there chaps! I'm very interested to know what you think of these ukes as they're very much on my GAS list at the moment. Owen, i may be wanting to pop by and see you when it arrives, if its convenient. I look forward to your reviews guys. Paul.
I will give you a nod when it appears. I have owned one before and the sound is sublime. The build quality is pretty rough but nothing half an hour with a sheet of sandpaper would not sort out. I am getting it for a friend but will try and arrange a time with you before I ship it off.
21. Taranis - Taran is Welsh for Thunder. Almost makes me want one just for that.
22. They are still selling them so I am guessing that even though I have ordered mine there are more there so my guess is that it has worked. Time will tell.
