2. I spent quite a lot of time trying to persuade him to build me a 35" 5 string 66 Jazz. He was having none of it because of the jigs.
3. I have one of the frame things and one of the freestanding spike things. £90 each to your door. They are as new.
4. Pickups, shmickups! Where is the scratchplate?
5. See last post for ticket info. ........... might be playing with Cory Henry and the Funk Apostles in the UK towards the end of November. I have no idea of the regular line up and it might well be that he will not be the touring bassist, but he is in the band on various youtube vids so who knows. It will be worth going just to see Cory Henry and anyone he deems to be cool enough to play in his band.
6. Exciting times. I had a Bravewood P and it ticked all the same boxes as my 66J. It taught me that I do not like P width nuts, but that was hardly his fault.
7.
Wow how cool is that!
Extraordinarily cool. That is how cool it is.
8. I used to drive 1.6Kw into an Eden 410XLT (700w). I had headroom for days. I had authoritative LF heft. Don't even begin to worry.
9. Is there anything finer than CAR with a matching headstock on a Jazz?
10. I have had nothing but good experience from Gear 4 Music basses (4 of them) - because I was not expecting out of the box greatness. They need new strings, a fingerboard truing and possibly a new bridge. But any lower priced instrument is likely to need that. Would I buy from Ebay? Yes. If the price is right then there is space to have a luthier do magic.
11. Glad to hear it is working for you Maybe I should have used a compressor. What bass are you using?
12.
I would like an amp that can run down to 2 ohms.......why are there so few available?
Acoustic Image ones do and have no fan either.
13. Thankfully I have all the Jazz I need in my life, but that scratchplate is a thing of beauty!
14. If anyone wants an Apogee JAM http://basschat.co.uk/topic/264579-apogee-jam-interface/
15. Argh! Scratchplate GAS. Thanks a bunch Kevin.
16. I cannot stand solo bass stuff. Endless self indulgent dross. Really, bass is to be played with people. The ensemble thing is what it is all about in my not so humble opinion. So why am I digging this? I'm not sure, but I am
17. Connect your bass to your iPhone or iPad and have crazy times. 30 pin connector jobbie.
18.
Ooof. Think I'll just look at the pictures. J.
I feel your pain. It was exciting while it lasted though
19. His facebook suggests he was going to use a Delano pickup first but changed his mind. I have asked how much.
20. It is a Nuvo by R.Hyde Guitars. It popped up on my Facebook feed and I thought "I know a group of people who would like to see this". https://www.facebook.com/rhydeguitars
