1. I am placing this on hold until I have had a chance to try it with the new Bergantino amp. I realise that this is a poor selling techinque, but sorry, that is how it is. Price drop to £350 So, I am having a change. It is a 4ohm jobby. It would cost £700 + to bring one in from the US by the time everyone had taken their cut. You know how it is. I needed a small cab because I was fed up of carrying my big cab. I looked at all the likely 12" candidates and decided to go with an ACME. I have always fancied trying one as I like his honesty and general attitude to speakers. It is light and well constructed. It has a port on the front. It has massively satisfying low frequency extension. There is no obvious sonic weakening as I slide down the B string. It fills the room with chocolatey goodness. Frequency response: 41Hz to 22 kHz +/-3 dB. -6dB at 31 Hz Power Handling: 350 Watts RMS continuous Recommended Power: 300-400 watts Sensitivity: 91.1 dB 1 watt/1 meter Impedance: Available in 4 or 8 ohms Dimensions: 23"H x 15.75"W x 16.5"D Weight: 37.5 lbs Please ask if you have any questions. Price is not including carriage.
2. Thanks everyone. I love this place
3. I have a pair of 40J soapbars with a BTC circuit. I am about to have them put them into a new bass but would like to have passive tone control in as well. I am aware that the treble control will give me an element of HF control, but I like what a passive roll off does (I had one on a set of EMGs with no active EQ) so fancy having one put in while I am at it. I am drilling a new body so now is the time to decide how it will all be cut open. Do I have to use an EMG pot? If so which one? Where does it go? So many ideas, so little ability to realise them Obviously I will not be doing anything with a soldering iron, they hurt me.
4. Glad I missed that otherwise I would now own a HB 335. Like I need a guitar in my life!
5. Please people, go to this and report back because I cannot make it http://www.songkick.com/artists/245757-meshell-ndegeocello
6. I did a session once, the engineer looked at my bass and was amazed that I had EMGs in it. He said "I thought they were meant to be all zingy, bright and clinical. They were not. They sounded really good". A lot of internet hearsay tells us that EMGs have no soul. This is not true.
7. B2M is ok-ish if you are happy to go up an octave and be super clean, but do not expect to plug in and be triggering of your normal lines. I am using a You Rock guitar for midi stuff. Obv not my normal bass but it means I can use basic plectrum technique and trigger interesting sounds.
8. I wish I could think of something, but I cannot, and I have spent a solid hour thinking about it 2x15 active wedge with 2 x 19" rack spaces?
9. I will have them. I will never watch the Rush one because I would rather pull my own teeth out with pliers (I hear they talk highly of my stuff as well), so if someone else want it, give me a nod. If you ripped your others before donating, how did you do it? I would love to rip mine but have never found an easy way.
10. I am not expecting this to run out of the door, but when the right person hears it calling then all shall be well bump.
11.
My ACS customs should hopefully be here in the next week or so. Big lump of cash to throw out but then again, you only get one set of ears. Liam
You only get one set of ears. I cannot now play without earplugs in due to damage. I cannot hear detail in what others are doing. Playing is not as much fun as it was. Everyone sort out hearing protection. Do it today.
12. Light, lovely asymetric neck, solid B and fabulous colour. There is nothing not to like about this bass. I already own one so I do not need another, but if I did not I would be all over this.

14. I have worked out what was wrong with the lefty Tele I bought for a friend. The octave dots are on the 13th fret
15. You all probably know this, but the iRig blue thing foot pedal is not compatible with iPad2. How I laughed.
16. If anyone sees a Uke bass on there then I will happily pay you £10 to buy it for me if I miss it. Ta
17. Just to add 2p worth. I have found piezos very disappointing on fretted basses until I got hold of a Bolin NS bass. The sound was everything I had always hoped for and more. It was a Fishman system (pickup and preamp) which sadly Fishman only sold OEM. I am not sure what the processing in the preamp was as far as fixed High Pass Filtering was, I presume it was in there. The real joy about it was how it fitted in with acoustic instruments in a way that Magnetic pickups (for me, YMMV) never have. I have a set of Graphtec saddles to go onto a bridge soon and am just getting my head around the preamp situation. What was nice about the Fishman/Bolin thing was that each string had an adjustable vol on trim pots inside. EMG used to make such a beast but I cannot find it anymore. I have looked at the East stuff and I guess that is the way I will go. I understand that the OP is going fretless, but I thought I would chime in about fretted not being all bad given the correct set up and how it works superbly with acoustic instruments.
18. This is a lot of rig for the money. The SRM350 cabs make a great small cab on their own for rehearsals or gigs with no drummer. I was going to write "with a sensitive drummer" but then realised how ridiculous that sounded.
19. MrsFRC has pm'd me again and she said that she wants to have both. She knows how important tone is to you. The tiles are great but when we moved in they were covered in self levelling cement. Getting that off was fun.
