    Awkwardly it looks as if I had already dropped it to £500 and then forgotten. What a dufus! In which case I will take it down to £475 and then go outside and have a word with myself.

    And here it is in all it's glory. I am really pleased with how it has turned out. The neck feels like velvet to play and the shorter scale is kind of addictive. Dave has been a delight to work with.     My 5 string fretted acoustic arrived today. I actually bought it for a friend but needed to check it first I cannot find anything wrong with it at all. All very confusing. It is enormous though!

    We run one in church but have it on a dedicated aux send so only put vox + a bit of keys through it. This sorts out most problems, but there are some guitars it will interfere with come what may.

    No one EVER studies machine heads from the back! They will be fine. I have a bitsa tele with some really car crash machine head placement on the back. I have never even given them a second look.

    However, if anyone has not heard Tchaikovsky's 6th symphony then you owe it to yourself to put some time aside and sit through it. It is the bomb.

    I look forward to a report on the heat gun. This looks so very easy http://www.stewmac.com/How-To/Online_Resources/Finishing/How_to_strip_a_modern_poly_guitar_finish.html but I am always disappointed when I try and do this stuff. This is usually down to my complete incompetence so if stripping with a heat gun is as easy as stewmac makes it look I will be very happy indeed as I have a bass I want to strip back to the wood.

    I am enjoying the tactile feel of the oil so much that I have decided to just put another couple of coats on and not use the wax.

    Not the greatest photos but I am aiming to get this done before the I hit the 4 year mark! The two halves of the body are closer in colour than the pictures suggest. I am now using Danish oil + wax cos it is easier than Tru Oil and I like easier.
