1. I forgot to put my feet down after this For added comedy value look at the apathy on the faces of the audience.
2. I wanted a Shuker body Simon had. Carriage was a real problem. He held on to it for AGES and then made the magic happen. Just fabulous.
3.
Here's the thing. She is really, really good but she's not doing anything new. And that's why music is dying...
It's concievable that she is earning a living at music. Imagine that.
4. But thanks for the leads!
5. By now I have decided to route it out like this so I can safely ignore what is there. Exciting times
6. http://www.bestbassgear.com/bartolini-bb-pickups.htm Obscure Barts. Rats, not the kind of thing which crops up on the for sale forums often.
7. I have just picked up a bass body and cannot recognise what the original pickups were in it. Any ideas? 4 string.
8.
Hi Owen, is the Eudoxa gut core? If it is and in decent nick, I'll take it thanks.
I am not entirely sure how to tell I am afraid. I have looked at it and my guess is it is not gut core, but I would welcome clarification about how to work it out!
9. He is down in Cornwal. St Ives possibly.
10.
I've just been looking at their work on Photobucket, there's not a lot of info about the company on their web site though, could you tell us more about your experience using them please?
He has done 2 bodies and 2 necks for me and one body for a friend. He reliced them because that was what I wanted. His comms are good, his rates are reasonable and I will be sending my next project to him as well. I am very happy to recommend him.
11. Price drop £160 I bought this to mess with 6 strings and bottom F#. It is a lot of fun, but I cannot get my head around the extra string and I know I will trip up when I am playing in anger. Here is a link to the Thomann spiel http://www.thomann.d..._bz_6000_nt.htm Let's get down to brass tacks. Is it a Ken Smith? No. It only costs £225 new. It is an entry into messing with 6 string basses. At the moment it is strung bottom F#BEADG. It speaks fairly well all the way down but needs a pretty hefty rig to make it happen in a meaningful way. You could just re-string it BEADGC and do your thing that way. The fit and finish are WAY better than they have any right to be for the money. To have entry level instruments of this quality means that we are actually living in the golden age of lutherie. I have not played it out of the house and knew even when I bought it that the whole thing was an experiment. Carriage will be at cost. As usual I am doing this late before going to bed. I will get pics up ASAP.
12. I guess I should chime in here then! I have it, it is a nice bass for what it is. It is not a Ken Smith or a Fodera butI have enjoyed messing with it but have confirmed (again) that 6 strings are not for me. The fit and finish is great on it, the spacing is 16.5/17mm as close as my eyes will let me see. The sound is good. The pre-amp is not a Fodera, but it is not overly noisy - I have heard worse and better. I am going to sell it and will put it up for £180 later on. It is not the lightest bass but as an entry into 6 string land it is very very fine indeed.

15.
Hi Owen, is the Eudoxa gut core? If it is and in decent nick, I'll take it thanks.
Ummmmmm..... I am not sure. I will check tonight.
16. A nice 12" cab build with one of these in it? http://www.hypex.nl/product/2012-11-23-13-44-01/2012-11-23-13-46-04/psc2-700.html Gobs of power + DSP on board. What's not to love?

There is no denying it, they are lush.
18. While Newtone made my F# set they also made me a set of roundwounds to go on my EUB 41" scale tuned an octave down. If they work I will prob go fretted EUB rather than Dingwall.
19.
Here ya go!!! 183 and a standard 130-30 6 string bass set. Low F sharp up to C
34" or 35" scale? I seem to recall 34". I went .043 .051 .068 .089 .118 .160 (taper core on the 160) from Newtone and they feel pretty good at the moment. This is on a neck through 35" scale. Obviously I now have Dingwall 6 string GAS.
20. These are sitting in a drawer. I will never use them. They are yours for the cost of postage only. If it sounds too good to be true then it usually is too good to be true. But this time it is true. Pirastro Flexocore x 2 Innovation Rockabilly Pirastro Eudoxa Picato Innovation Hybrid cut for EUB Thomastik Superflexible unusued Need a B you know you do. You cannot spell Bass without it.
