I had a bass wheel. I got very edgy about making the bass feel every bump and thud that my local pavements had to offer. I stopped using it. Having said that, I had a home made carrying strap that I used for years until it snapped and caused a £2.5 rebuild, so what do I know?

There will be no bass solos. And even if there are, everyone will just talk across them anyway. It's traditional.

I am enjoying mine but do not NEED it. I am having one of my periodical tidy up phases and if anyone wants mine then it can be yours for £80 inc the Thoman case I bought. I have paid the fees so I am kosher to sell.

Depped with a resident house band in a 50+ year old resort. Sight read happily through the set. Turned page to find Le Freak. Started playing and then had a moment of clarity that I was playing one of the great bass lines, got lost, and took a solo in the middle section because I has NO idea where I was in the song. Whoops.

Hi all! I have a student who is struggling with his Ibanez bass. He has tried to re-wire it to a new jack socket but sadness has happened because he has got lost in wires. The black wire that is soldered to the jack is from the pre, as is the white. I'm sure you lot can do these in your sleep, but we are confused. At the moment there is a weak and puny signal coming out which cuts out completely when the floating wire is touched anywhere on the jack socket. Help! TIA.

DR Ducks Ax-Wax works great for me. Loads of people use Lemon Oil and have no issues. I have no idea why it did not work for me, the bottle was pretty old.

I am glad Lemon Oil worked for you. I tried some recently and it totally dried out the board and made the frets rough. This was a brand new neck. It might be that the Lemon Oil was old, I dunno.
