  1. I just bought a bass back that I sold 6 years ago. Don't let it eat away at you.
  2. I bought a new G&L bass from the USA. The truss rod snapped. I am not complaining about that. Things happen. I have just received a brand new neck from G&L in the US as a replacement. This is the customer service we like.
  3. It's gratifying when a concept actually comes to fruition like you hope it will. My track record of "improving" basses is chock full of "Ah, not all that after all" moments. This is all I hoped for.
  4. "Regrets, I have a few...." I should not have sold my Sei J5.
  5. Ban this sick filth!!!! Not wrong though.
  6. Tone words. I played the Umm.....Bongo at church this morning. In a kind of strange analogy, it was like playing bass on an Aston Martin V8.
  7. Thanks for humouring me everyone And because it is an early one the tooooooone is better. Those are the rules.
  8. In the never-ending quest to mess with things, I (obv not actually me) have taken a Seymour Duncan 5 string (https://www.seymourduncan.com/single-product/70s-music-man-alnico-5-5-string) out of my MM USA SUB . I have also taken the Nordstrand 2B-MM preamp out (https://www.bestbassgear.com/nordstrand-2b-mm-preamp.htm). Don't be sorry for me. It is full of Bongo electrics now. Pickup - £80 Pre - £80 I also have a black (b/w/b) scratchplate and a white (w/b/w) scratchplate. £20 each Fancy them you know you do. Geddy Lee's big book of bass - £35 + whatever it will cost to post. It is not light. Or small. As the title suggests. East MPM-02 Piezo Mag Mixer Sold Hipshot D tuner bass extender. GB7
  9. But here is a screenshot of an old school (better toooooooone, obv) Nordy MM pre.
  10. Super close up action. Which I suspect will tell us nothing.
  11. I have looked at Retrovibe stuff and their boards seem to have Retrovibe on them. This does not. There are no clues under the DS tape.
  12. Incredibly powerful editor. But the really good bit is that some grown-ups have programmed a bunch of stuff so you can download loads of things and not have to get lost in the editor.
  13. I guess it could be an original SUB one. The seller on Ebay had put a Seymour Duncan pickup in it so it is likely to at least be decent. Selling it would be easier if I could actually give it a name though!
  14. This came in a MM US SUB I bought while playing Ebay Roulette. It was sold as being a Nordstrand, but I suspect it is not! Can anyone recognise what it actually is? It did the MM 2 band thing fine and dandy but I now have a different pre in there and want to flog this one. TIA
  15. I hear you. The A&H will do all that the extra onboard DSP in the 10.2 will do.
  16. I guess if the FOH is doing it's thing then the LF will be happening anyway. And if you are mixing monitors on your phone then there will be access to some serious EQ options. Therefore you can let the FOH do the heavy lifting, cut the LF in your wedge and save your back. I do really like my QSC K10.2 but I cannot imagine there will be a night and day difference between the RCF and the QSC. I will be interested to know. The QSC does have some useful on board processing.
  17. RCF 745A? As featured in I am no longer gigging actively, but did have a brief internal debate about buying these! I am using a QSC K10.2 as backline because even when I do gig I will not be anywhere near a loud drummer. It is an exceptionally capable cab. We use the QSC K12 at work and would happily borrow one of those if I needed to fight with a drummer.
