1. I do not want to de-rail this thread, but I am looking for some active PA speakers for work (FE college doing live gigs with bands) and for church (different rigs) and would welcome opinions from those of you who seem to be using them in the wild. Thinking about QSC/Yamaha 12" + Sub offerings. Wondering about the Yamaha 15" but thinking perhaps a 15" + 1" comp driver might not be a happy combination but fancy the bombproofability that the 15" would offer for learning how to use PA systems. I am fully aware that teaching them how to not abuse stuff is part of my job, but you would be amazed at what the dance teacher does to the rig (and her ears) when my back is turned.

3. Every year I look at the pics and think "yeah, must go next year". I am doing the same now.
4. I have used both. I found having a quiver flapping around really uncomfortable, but I stand to play and move around quite a bit. I am really happy with the hook.
5.
This is the one I have been following. http://www.talkbass....art-1-a-672089/
That's the one. You can pass HOURS in there
6. There is a huge thread on TB with all the info you could ever want. I am going to flog my Kala if anyone wamts one. Not cos I do not rate it, but I have a 5 string now.
7. I am not convinced that the top on that is nicer than yours. Yes, it has a nice touch of flame, but the elegance of the uniformly tighter grain on yours is very classy. It is just a really honest piece of wood that needs no adornment. Is the control cavity pencil drawing on the front just for geographical purposes? You are not going through that top are you? Obv, it is your bass so do what you like!
8. It would be a crime to cover that wood in anything but a light tint.
9.
Church round here has Meyer installed...
I played through a Meyer rig once
10. Keep this info coming! Have you looked at the Yamaha DSR series? They seem to get a lot of love and they have a 15" (850w) + 2" (450w) model.
11. SOMEBODY TELL ME WHAT THAT GUITAR WAS!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS THE INTERNET, PEOPLE!!!!!! I NEED INSTANT GRATIFICATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
12. I have not watched for ages but enjoyed this evening. What guitar was the lead guitarist with KOL playing? Gibson ES175 without a tailpiece? Quite oddly, I seem to have guitar GAS. Most unexpected.
13.
But what makes my jaw actually hang open is when I consider that, without formal theory training and whatnot, he had the maturity, at the tender age of 26, after playing bass for only 9 years, to engineer classical Stravinsky ideas into a pop song - Wherever I lay My Hat. It takes a particular type of artistic mind to do that. Whoever reckoned there are thousands like Pino Palladino - I think not.
To be fair, and I love Pino as much as anyone, but what he is playing there - although a quote from The Rite of Spring - is more than likely to be a quote of Jaco quoting Stravinsky. I have been listening to all of them for decades and only recently made the conection. http://tomkenrick.wordpress.com/category/jaco-pastorius/
14.
REALLY cool! Great idea. It would be a one off and I think I might be still waiting for my bass into 2014!
I had a Sei made once and came up with the idea too late. I had LEDs and Martin said he would have loved to do it if I had thought about it in time. Other than in music, timing is not one of my strong points!
15.
I'm wondering about an onboard tuner.
Multicolour/function LEDs in the neck for side dots. White for normal, but cbanging colour for using as tuner info. Red either side of the octave and green at the octave to denote in tune. It would be super cool but can you imagine the extra cost!?!
16. I have no possible use for this, but it would look SO cool in the corner in my house!
17.
Doh! I would have loved that!!!!! Gutted I even have a set of spare frets
Don't worry, soon I will take on another project and then do the square root of nothing at all with it and have to shift it on again.
18.
PMd
Sadly, not as yet. However, this has now gone.
19. So, yeah, I fancy myself as a luthier. The fact that I have no woodworking skills at all has not stopped me from dreaming. Sometime ago this appeared on here. I immediately knew that I could weave my magic and create a totally playable instrument from it. All I needed to do was strip it right back to bare wood, re-fret it, finish it and set it up. You can guess the rest. As you can see in the pics, it has seen some sort of action. It has been de-fretted. The decal is most definitely not original. I think it is prob a Squier, but then it really does not matter. I got it for carriage and a donation to good old BC, so am asking the same. Take my junk. Please. 20. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/216436-eub-gigbag-for-nothing/page__pid__2201118#entry2201118 Free case for it. Take my junk.
21. I have a bag which came on my NS EUB ages ago. The NS was second hand and the case is 100% not original NS kit. It is 130cm x 25cm. It is lightly padded. It is yours for the cost of postage. Take my junk.
22. That is a lush piece of wood, and I would even venture to say that the knot gives it just a hint of character as well. Not that it does not have character, but the slight "blemish" makes it more real somehow.
23. This is an insane cab for £200. Just so that everyone knows.
