  1. You can order them through Andertons. You will have to wait for the next G&L shipment they get, but you will not be paying the ridiculous shipping.
  2. It was funny, dad was not a musician but was always supportive. We were watching Mr T on TV and they mentioned the spike. Dad just asked "do you want one" and obviously I said yes. I live(d) in deepest North Wales. Mum sent the 'cello off to J & A Beare in London. I dread to think what it cost.
  3. I actually also have 80% of my Tortellier spike as well. It did not make me a better player!
  4. I used to have a De Jacques bridge back in the day! I always thought there was something quite elegant about it. This is the only bit of 'cello I have left now.
  5. Sometimes it sucks to be a grown-up
  6. He is new but he is sound and will be an asset to us.
  7. I used to have the non stomp box one which was great. The reality is that an Fdeck preamp or a clone will do all you need and will be much cheaper. I will admit to a vested interest here because I have one for sale. But even if I did not I would still say the same thing.

IK have totally stepped up and provided a new serial number. They did not have to do that. I am beyond grateful and frankly very, very impressed.
  9. The one there is not, the chase only there is.
  10. And their definition of "Just So" is often radically different from our desire of "this is working, let's not fix it".

Just because I have to vent, I am going to update you. Seller has now blocked me on FB so clearly has no intention of undertaking the 8 minute job of transferring the licence which will cost nothing. I am so fed up I am discussing this on the TB ToneX thread as well. Stereo whinging.
  12. The problem is that luthiers do not want to let things out of their shops until everything is "Just So". And "Just So" costs.
  13. YES!!! I remembered the "tap" word correctly. Check me out with my tech speak.

I have bought a 2nd hand one. Buyer beware. I naively expected that the software would be freely available. It is not. It is tied to the specific unit. It is possible to transfer the licence but that is another step in the transaction. One which my seller has not managed to undertake yet. And it has been 2 weeks. Had I known (or thought it through) I would have just bought a new one. My £75 saving on the new price is now paling into insignificance.
  15. They lool like the real deal. Shame about the weight.
  16. I cannot see any immediate uses for this for us. And it is not markted at us. But can anyone see any way of using it creatively. Every time I getbom board with multiple pickup options I default to the "two pickups on full" option and leave it there. Does this have any funtcionality that I am missing? https://www.guitarworld.com/reviews/seymour-duncan-hyperswitch
  17. I bought a Boogie D-180 which had been imported from the US. It came with step down transformer. I asked all sorts of people about ditching the transformer. No one wanted to know. Eventually I thought to ask my brother, the electrical engineer. He opened it, took a different tap off the transformer and it was all good. Moral of the story was find someone who actually wants the job. I am fully aware that I am using words I do not understand on the technical front here.
  18. Thanks both. The Rodes are probably too good for what Zoom will do to them!
  19. Hi all, Can anyone suggest a couple of mics to use to pick up our congregation in Church for Zoom broadcasts? I am not looking for absolute top quality 414 alikes. Zoom does horrible things to the audio anyway so there is no point in ultimate fidelity. I was wondering if anyone would point to a couple of cardioid units which I could hang above the congreation. I am thinking https://www.thomann.de/gb/the_tbone_em700.htm. But am open to suggestions. TIA
