I sold it because I NEEDED something else. It turns out that I did not need it after all, but it was too late by then. Ho hum. As GuyR said, it held up just fine against my 66 and ticked all the same boxes for me. I would not hesitate to go down the same route again. If he did 5 strings I would just flog all I have and order a J5 and a P5 and be done with it all. Mr Police Squad - I am glad my wife is not a bassist as well otherwise we would be drowning in basses!

I need one of these to fill a hole in one of my basses. Does anyone know where I can get a plain cover? I do not need anything in it, it is just a plug for a hole. TIA

I "made" a Blingray once. It had a one piece Ash body with a 1/4" Birds Eye Maple top and a Rosewood coachline strip. Sadly, the bloke who made the body forgot to build it so that it was standard thickness. He machined the Ash to standard and then glued the rest on. The idea of chambering looks VERY attractive. It was challenging to wear on a strap for more than 30 minutes.

I would TOTALLY have one even if it was just to stand up in the corner to look cool. How it sounds would be secondary. I have insatiable plank GAS but oddly no DB GAS at all.

Pre/post DI? Horses for courses. DI before my preamp input? With an active bass, not bothered. With a passive bass? No, a passive bass likes the front end/loading a proper preamp gives. Try both and listen to the difference. Some DIs are OK but some are REAL tone suckers (Behringer [standard kit in a lot of not TOP pro setups] is not pleasant).

I have played with a couple of really nice bows in my life (both £3k+). If I had the money I would buy one tomorrow. Going back to mine was sad after that.

I have a bass which is finished, but need another MM5 with ears hole routed into it. Obv this will be easy peasy for an experienced routing bod with the appropriate jig. Does anyone fancy the job? It will be slightly tricky because there is no room for slippage because the body is painted and if it were scratched it would be a MAJOR pain. I like relics, but not for this one. Obv I want it done last week because that is the nature of my excitement. I am not asking anyone to drop their big project just because of me, but if you have any space to do it quickly that would be very lush.

Rubber feet mounted over strap buttons with strap permanently screwed on to strap button before rubber fitted? All my straps are screwed in with a big washer to hold them in place. Why am I obsessed with your bass?

Obv not the colour scheme you have in mind, but an answer for balancing the bass?
