1. I wish they did the same neodynium pickups and 18v circuit on a Sterling/Stingray, as the Bongos main drawback was the bottom horn digging in my right thigh a bit. YES!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought it was just me. I have been through 3 of them and even though the sound is righteous the lower horn drove me nuts. Also, they are slightly heavy.
2.
More importantly whatwas the bassist for The Jolly Boys playing. A kind of huge thumb piano?
No, really. Where do I get one?

5. Hmmmmmmmm............. I've been thinking about this. Is it expensive? It is more than normal tenor Ukes yes, but if I bought a solid one of those (rather than ply) and then added the machines and a pick-up and paid someone to do that (because I certainly could not) it would be pretty close to the same price, but without the resale of the actual kosher model. We all know that you can mod something as much as you like, but the re-sale is never going to keep up with the extra money you have put in. Is it a toy? When it is plugged in and has a decent buffering pre-amp in front of it? Totally not. Is there a slight change in technique? Yes, it is a different instrument, I would not expect to pick up something which was so radically different in proportion and instantly be able to do everything I can do on a normal bass.
6. Sorry, I have realised that I can actually use the neck so it is off the market now.
7. It is indeed old news, but really they are the bomb.
8.
Haven't got any of the parts requested, but happy to donate a strap, lead or picks.
Picks? I thought this was Basschat. That was a joke.
9.
Are there any photos of the neck available Owen?
Loads 'n' loads! http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=91715&hl=
10. I just ran a quote and they are certainly cheaper than my stuff used to be with Robertson Taylor. Are you using the MU £2K automatic cover to reduce the excess?
11. Buy a small headphone amp of ebay (cmoy ones seem ok - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Micro-Cmoy-headphone...=item3a5ed06d94 kind of thing) and run a line into that and monitor yourself on one side of a pair of walkman in ear things. If you are going to blister (and you will) then rub your fingertips in some superglue before you start. No, really.
12. You should try giving it a leopard skin jacket. If I was not happily married I would be pulling like a tractor.
13.
Two and a half year bump. Impressive!
Respect!
14. I don't know anything about them, but I want one! A nice set of plastic wrapped strings and it would be superb.

16. A bump purely for the thrill of seeing something I could actually pick up for a change (hi Paul!). Mind you, I do not have the funds
17. The strings are no longer tacky. Just so that you know.
18.
Haven't ried a Nash but I know a UK guy who does the same thing. Haven't tried his basses, but his guitars are sweet, drop him a line http://www.kingswoodcustomrelics.com/
I dropped him a line. He does not do basses.
19.
no steel in these Owen, i also have a set of Prestos, pretty similar to Silver Slaps except they do have some steel under the nylon, both very low tension with a gut vibe to them http://www.presto-strings.com/doublebass.html £50 posted
Ho hum, no metal means tricky bowing. Sadness.
20. Do these have any other covering apart from metal? I love my Innovation Rockabillys but cannot bow them. I'm guessing these are Rockabillys with no black wrap?

22. I'm glad that I am rubbish at guitar, otherwise I would have to have that..
