  1. I shall bring life to my own thread. Does anyone (or could anyone) put something together which would do this Low-Z thang that I could plumb into a passive or an active bass? Like that bit of the Audere which I REALLY liked. I know that an active pre will be buffering the pickups so where to put the new bit in the signal path would be an issue.
  2. Classic! I had actually asked the question in 2012!
  3. I owned one of these once. TBF I have owned one of most things. I should not have sold it. The Low-Z mode made for some very impressive gruntiness. So impressive in fact that I am off to the Technical forum to discuss if it would be something a competent tech could whip up from a bag of components. Not the whole preamp but that Low-Z thang.
  4. If you are even thinking 750/751 then a Crest CA6 used to be the lead sled power amp of choice for bass racks. I am sure they are available fairly cheap now as they are proper old school heavy.
  5. Don't bother. The Bass Police will arrest you and all the work will be for nothing.
  6. I only have experience of the Demeter power stage in their cute head. It did the job very well. You will enjoy the Monique. Nothing quite does what it does.
  7. It is integrated, but half a QSC stereo power amp. It might seem counterintuative to use a full amp, but the power stage is good and it is way cheaper than a dedicated no rack power amp would be. Have you asked on the Monique TB thread?
  8. A decent power amp in the form you are looking for will cost the same as a really good power amp bolted onto the back of an RCF745 or even an RCF945. Just thinking out loud here. Or a Quilter Bass Block and plug into the FX return. I like this discussion.
  9. I played a pedal steel once, about 20 years ago. It reminded me of a Chapman Stick. I had no idea what was going on with that either.
  10. The one mistake it is impossible to correct on the stage on the gig is "why did I think having ******* to play would work?".
  11. Snap. But back on topic, wait until you can get to a bassbash, try 70 gazillion basses.
  12. Gwerth chweil! Er, yn anffodus yn rhy bell i fi.
  13. Thanks MNR. We have just bolted a couple of phone holders underneath our balcony and we will just run with the iPods for a bit to see how it feels. We might yetupgrade. However, I can only dream of a full D&B front of house and proper in-ears!
  14. Further to my pedal steel search I caved and bought the https://impactsoundworks.com/product/pedal-steel/ Thanks for the offer of putting something together Dad, the problem was that I did not know what I wanted. It has worked for what I wanted and I have had a lovely day using it. This is unmixed, but seeing as many of you chipped in with offers of help, here is a work in progress. CRBC.mp3
  15. Hi Rob, You are popping up on all sorts of threads which appeal to me and you are giving solid input. I am enjoying your contribution, welcome aboard. Owen
  16. It is all Greek to me, but very exciting!
  17. Off topic is the best thing! Will it be as good as a basic Squier? Does a Squier have a bright orange honeycomb body part? No. No, it does not. I read about someone in the US making one with a non HB kit and they had to make quite a few small detail adjustments. If you do make one I will totally need to see it.
  18. I discussed this elsewhere on the site, but here it is again. I cannot say I am not tempted. https://blog.prusa3d.com/the-prusacaster-how-to-design-and-3d-print-an-electric-guitar_71962/
  19. My people are here. LEOPARD PRINT FTW!
