1. 8 does notation. Not as well as Sibelius, but easily well enough to hand out parts for other people to read. I have been using it for years with no complaints.
2. Oh for another string There really is some top class kit for not much money floating around. I am actually primed and ready to buy a Bongo 5 HH P so all this nice kit is a bit of a trial for me
3.
With my crappy ruler it's measuring just over 1 and a half inches.
Ho hum The search continues.

5.
Chris Larkin does a six string, fretted version of his Blen EUB Super Blen
Thanks. Crazy stuff. Aesthetically a lot too busy for what I had in mind, but comforting in the fact that I am not totally alone in this concept.
6. I followed the recent F0 thread and it was probably that which got me thinking about scale length again. It would not be a ridiculously long scale bass. It would be the same as the Double Bass I have been playing for the last 27 years. My left and right hand techniques are ready to go. The amplification is not an issue because it would be used with PA support. I'm certainly not going to be hefting fridges around with me. One of my questions would be are there going to be obvious intonation issues with a fretted instrument with a mahoosive scale length? knuckleguitarworks seem to have it going on.
The scale length isn't the limiting factor nearly as much as the amplification. You just want a ridiculously long scale bass so you can have a really low tuning? Think making an upright style bass is overcomplicating things really. The was a thread on this fairly recently.
7. I played with a SYB5 today. I looked potentially useful, but for me the lack of programmability was a bit of a downer. I particularly liked the press and sustain the note facility and could see that working well with some other pedal to run a filter sweep. Could this be done in a GT10B? TIA
8. I have spent 8 hours of my life travelling to and from Music Live today. While on the road I started thinking about ERBs. I have no desire to play rich chordal passages. I have no desire to have 3 octaves available without moving my hand. Other people love that stuff, but it is not for me. I would like to have a genuinely useful bottom F sharp. I know all about scale length giving better tension for the strings that can moonlight as towing cables. I am also a Double Bass player. So I was thinking - how about an upright fretted 41" scale six string strung F sharp to G? I know Barker in the US make an upright sort of thing but it is only 34" scale ( http://www.barkerbass.com/ ). I am thinking more in line of an EUB with frets. The fingerboard can have a normal Bass Guitar radius on it. I will never need to bow it. It can essentialy be a plank because I will not need a body to make it look groovy. Has anyone done one of these? NS Design seem to be doing a 34" scale one http://www.nedsteinberger.com/instruments/omnibass.php but I cannot find a 41" one.
9. Suckage for Mr Hunt You could buy his 3 and my B and string a 4 string for super low notes.
10. I have a main rig and a Mackie SRM 350 for small (no drummer) stuff. It is superb.
11. I am using status round core nickles on my Bolin, but that is 35". Interestingly, I have tried a set of status and a set of roto plastic wraps on thd bolin and both gave HUGELY inconsitent volumes from string to string on the piezo. More to do with tension accross the piezo pick ups. I do realise that this revelation is a pretty minority intrest one.
12. I have dealt with Gillento off this forum. It was all very smooth.
13.
£20 for a 4 set?! damn....
Don't feel too bad - I stung him for £2 p+p. Oh yes
14. £12 to your door. This could turn you into a world class funk machine. You cannot beat a good sales pitch
15. That looked like a lot of fun.
16. It's at times like this that I am glad that I know (4 fretless basses later) that my fretless playing is appaling so I am safe from this bass. But only just........ Also, sorry to hear about the redundancy. Bummer.
17.
If you keep that horrible thick string out of the pack of 5 and reduce them to £20 I'll have them... I know the maths doesn't stack up but God loves a trier!
No one else seems to want them so take them away.
18. The Boogie looks good. There was an Eden 2x15 in the classifieds for a long time that might still be around.
19. I do not have the skills, but can get my head around building basses. The thought of building my own amp is just too cool for words. I bet most "high end" valve preamps are a fairly small collection of good quality components. I could be wrong
20. MB1 is obviously raising awareness on other peoples kit so I shall bump myself.
21. It's offer time people. These are just sitting in a drawer. £ or trades. The worst I can say is no!
22.
Have a look here and you'll see mine: photobucket.com/cgordonfreemanbongo Classy:)
Tasty!
23. If it was a 5 you could consider it sold.
im selling a 4HH in desert gold. £750.
