3.
I had the same problem on my Ashbory with it's piezo, but touching the strings didn't help because they are rubber. It was fixed by a friend of mine and he described the modification in a post on the Ashbory forum. I don't know if it's of any help to you, but here's a copy of his post: Hope this helps, I have some pics of his work too, if anyone's interested. Steve.
YAY for Funky Pete!

My bass has not even arrived yet, but I am so confident in this bloke that I will say before the event that it was just a top top experience. It has been a delight.
  10.
Well, I thought I'd take one for the team, somebody had to!
The team salutes you!
  11. This cannot be one of my bands because I am the only bassist, but it looks remarkably familiar. It's a drag. That is why they will be using someone else once the already booked dates are done.
  12.
No worries, Owen. According to Eubassix, this is the only bass he's ever done ...
Phew. Crisis averted. OCD equilibrium restored.
  13.
Not my photos: http://tinypic.com/a/2jxip/3 I don't normally "get" relic-ing, but this one really works.
Oh GREAT! Yet another relic builder for me to stalk
  14. Bravewood's site says that he is not taking orders at the moment, just building what he fancies and selling as it goes. Maybe an email might tempt him, who knows. Crinson. Who they?
  15. Bump for more stuff I did not realise I had.
  16. Believe it or not there is a queue!
  17.
Damn! How embarrassing ... apologies to both Oli and Ben. Still a great bass, though.
Jack, does that mean that you have too many basses? You seem to be losing track. I will look after the Alleva if you need a de-tox period
  18.
Hey Owen, swap you the Bravewood for a caps lock key?
If I was younger I would jump, but I have to consider weight issues by now so I'm afraid I will have to pass.
  19.
Sorry, I'm not familiar with Bravewood. From what I can gather, this is a later Fender P which has been 'restored' to look like it's a '63? It looks lovely. Do Bravewood just distress the body, or overhaul the entire thing? - what is the actual year?
http://www.bravewoodguitars.co.uk/
  20. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLL..............................RRRRRRIIIIIIIGHT!!!!!
  21. I commissioned the bass to end all basses. It arrived and I tried to love it for 3 years. I sold it at a beefy loss. There was lots I liked about it. It was extraordinarily well put together and a thing of beauty, but ultimately I just did not connect with it. Live and learn.
  22. Cool. The build on my my kind of version of this should be being started in the next two weeks and now I am all excited again http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=104007&hl=
