1. Well, I certainly did not expect to find this polarity of opinion. I guess for me it is the very subtle groove that brings the funk to me. The economy of the whole thing but everything being in the right place. As the old saying goes, one man's funk is another man's muzak. I am resisting the temptation to double post this.
2. I have double posted. What a total loser. Could someone put me out of my misery and delete this one please.

9. If nobody buys this soon, I will have to. Come on people, do it.
10. What we really need is a luthier who will do what is needed and will be payed handsomely for the work, but has a courier account and charges cost price for moving basses backwards and forwards across the country. I have NO ONE close who's work I am happy with. I have 2 basses which need attention but no one I trust Feel my pain!
11. Your avatar makes me queasy!
Was having a look through Chuck Traeger's bass repair book and one of the first things he talks about are old school wooden endpins. They're meant to vibrate more freely than mordern day steel ones and therefore improve your sound. I've got a 5/8inch diameter spike on my new Tarrantino which according to the book, will fit a 2B hickory drumstick perfectly. A pair of sticks costs only about £7 so I give it a try. It actually works. My bass has a pretty big resonant sound anyway but now it sounds even more open, especially in the higher register. I wouldn't say it's louder, just a more free sound. Better still, the instrument vibrates a lot more with the low C shaking every bone in your body. This is with arco, I found the effect is less pronounced for pizz. Looks a bit weird though setting up with a drumstick in your bass, I'll see how many funny looks I get at the gig tomorrow.
12. Not the subtlest relic-ing job on the sunburst precision in his pics.
13. Sometimes I use a plec THAT WAS JOKE in case anyone missed that fact
14.
Sweet jazz bass matey. Get some pics up in the porn section.
Thanks. It is the best ever. If it had a B I would be GAS free for ever. (subtlest bump ever!)
15.
Rehearsing is totally overrated...
Actually, rehearsing is cheating.
16. Hmmmmmmmm! I emailed Spector to see if it was a recognised problem and they just said that they would send another out to me I bought the bass 2nd hand but there was no questioning about age of bass etc, just standing by their product. Now that is what I call customer service. I will be duly bigging them up in the main chat section at a later date. Thanks for the other suggestions.
17.
I'd be concerned because the post reads like those 'your wife will be exhausted with your new stamina' emails I keep getting from dodgy pharmacists in Africa.
Phew, I thought that was just me!
18. I was looking for £, but that does not seem to be happening, so if anyone has anything to trade then throw them at me. I do not have anything in mind, but I thought that I would ask before hitting E-bay. This is one of those basses that seem to come in batches and are sold on Ebay. I bought a 5 string on a punt and love it. I fancied trying a 6 string to get some bottom F# action going. It works, but I am too lazy to nail the 6 string thing. I will put another F# on my 5 string version. It is a neck through, shallow necked, solid wood 35" scale, 3 band eq'd slim bodied delight. The only downside is that there seems to be a phase issue with the neck pickup, the strings below D seem to be weaker when the pan pot is dead centre. When it is just past the centre detent towards the bridge it is all good. Creamy F# goodness for the knock down price of.................. £210 + shipping .............. how can you say no? Want it you know you do.
19. I have one of these in my Spector. I am not digging it. Does anyone have anything they would like to trade pre-amp wise for it? Ta
