BASS BASH MARCH 2008
Great - looking forward to meeting you then Owen and I'll be bringing along my Roscoe Beck 5 you helped me to sort out!
I hope that it's not CAR with matching headstock otherwise I will have to take it home with me. I have always fancied one.
4.
Hi Owen, It's a mighty 36", so no flabby low B! Mike E.
Hmmmm........... mighty F# more like! Unfortunately it is the ever present "I need to flog something before being able to buy anything" scenario.
5.
You're selling it? Even though I had no idea what it was when I saw you play, I thought it sounded amazing! Edited to bold
Aw, shucks! Thanks. It is great and I will not be dissapointed if it does not go, but I do fancy a shot on the Berg IP 112! For anyone else reading, it is a great amp if you have 2 bassses on stage, it has 2 completely independant pre-amp channels.
6. What's the scale length on the Overwater?
7. Thomastik Jazz rounds. Very boingy/spongy/low tension, very nice. Ceilliau y ci.
8.
You can kinda see that its a Bravewood body, I've never seen a vintage fender that has 'aged' like that Still a nice looking bass though. Good luck Si
Looks like my (for real trashed) '66 Jazz as well.
9. It looks like the IP 112 has gone so I will be keeping this. Can I work out how to cancel my Ebay auction? Can I heck. Could someone direct me here? TIA

BASS BASH MARCH 2008

I now have written permission from SWMBO so will be driving down from Bangor (North Wales) A55/Chester/Crewe/Stoke-on-Trent wise. Does anyone want to pile into the Owen-mobile and share fuel costs?
11. As it says in the title! Dark brown. The longer one. Virtually unused. It does not match any of my basses. I am so shallow. £25 delivered. http://www.overwater.co.uk/Leather.htm
12. I'm sure they are both lovely. I know which one you are more likely to get your money back out of.
13. I picked up a Mazetti 5 string new from Ebay for £120. Neck through, 35" scale. Solid woods all round. I cannot say enough good things about them. I also picked up a Korean MTD here for £150. Nice wide spacing, lighter than a light thing 35" scale. Huge cavity, but passive vol and tone - ripe for the upgrade. I dropped an Audere pre into mine. Really nice bass but zero resale value - which is great if you are going 2nd hand (they were £500 new).

Mistakes

Thanks y'all! I salute you. Just been listening to Roxanne and it sounds like the tape speeds up a whole semi-tone in the first 2 bars as well. I only wish I had something out that had been bought by 70 gazillion people so that someone could point out a mistake in it
15. Depending on prior commitments etc I would be happy to pick people up from service stations in the North West for the drive down.
16. Now THAT'S what I call a case lining. Class.
17.
And dont forget bass gear is considerably more expensive for people not on basschat or the like as they dont have access to so much second hand stuff.
Ugh! Just imagine

Mistakes
Noel redding goes into the intro riff during the fade out of "Fire" by mistake Chas Chandler reckoned no-one would notice it,so it stayed.
Thanks, I have used that one (not being ungrateful here!), and on listening closely it sounds as if the whole rhythm section goes into the intro riff and it is Jimi that ploughs on regardless.

G-bitch

G-bitch totally rules. No, really, he shares the love! He sold a Mackie PA speaker with cover to someone. The buyer did not want the cover. I enquired how much for the cover. He said that the buyer paid full asking price for the speaker so sent me the cover for postage money. As I said. G-bitch totally rules.
20. I realise that any recording can be art and art is not about perfection, but about communicating. I realise that we have no right to judge other peoples playing. Having said that, I teach on a music course and I am compiling a list of recordings which have mistakes in them to develop the critical listening skills of my students. I did this a couple of times on the 'pit and possibly here (or wherever we were at the time). Could you point me in the direction of your favourite mistakes? TIA
21. The Epifani has left the building.
