  1. I have unilaterally stopped our music hitting YT. Getting a good mix is a lot of work for an experienced engineer, let alone a volunteer who also doing the room. And if the mix is poor you can guarantee that it is the weaker aspects which will be heard.
  2. I wish I had used ACS earlier. Make sure you get the moulds done with your mouth open. It gives a better seal. Get them with strings on. Otherwise you will lose them. Get them in a hard colour. Easier to find. And less "yellowing" to happen. Eugh. Do not skimp on your ears. You cannot buy new ones. I know, OP, you are looking at them for general attenuation, but hearing damage is super easy to fall into. If you get ACS ones you can buy different rated valves as well.
  3. Overland express are often a lot cheaper than Interparcel. And if you take insurance out of the equation then it would prob be an absolute max of £20. I have just worked through a list of reasons I need a flightcase but have managed to stop myself. But it was close!
  4. People must be tired of me typing this, but this kind of thing is made specifically for couriers to do their worst. No packing, no insurance worries. Obv, I understand if courier pickup is an issue, but apart from that it is "Come and have a go if you think you are hard enough Courier bod o'clock".
  5. I have almost been sucked into the QC vortex several times. This will let me mess with the concept before dropping more than my car is worth on something to put on the floor.
  6. I am afraid that you lost me when you started using techincal words (former). However, Mark has reached the prototyping stage and here they are. I launched into a new thread where I though it might get a bit more traction. When it is all said and done, I am sure he will be happy enough to make them for others as well.

    Balls.

I must admit I am not worried about grip. Once I have tuned a bass I very, very rarely - if ever in fact - find myself drifiting out of tune. And I am such a slave to aesthetics that I will put up with any slight extra work on grippage.
  8. I knew that would get your attention. My local tech bod is very gracious with me and humours my ever wandering mind. I have a Shuker which I love dearly, but I have taken an irrational dislike to the machine heads on it. They do their job fine and dandy, but there is something about them I just do not like. I often look at my daughter's acoustic and wonder why I cannot have nice machine head buttons. Then I thought that spheres would be a very nice thing. Mark is cnc'ing some for me. Here is the first prototype. Eventually they will be made out of Ebony. I thought others might like to see.
  9. If they were a surefire thing, I could quite happily use an ordinary guitar strung BEADG but an octave higher on occasion. Thanks for an unexpected hit of GAS.

  11. A sustain pedal socket. Just like on a keyboard.

  13. I prefer the original chip. The sound is warmer than the new one will be. It enables me to express my innermost feelings more succinctly.
  14. I should have been clearer. Yer man makes great cables and is one of us.
  15. Nope, my board is too small
  16. Fair play, that is a well thought through piece of kit.
  17. I have a spaceship pedal board as well. We know how this is going to end.
  18. For anyone wondering, this is one of the things SB bought. What a very nifty item. I might well get one. https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_spaceship_powerbar_60.htm If anyone cares, I bought a HB Beatle Bass.
  19. I had one of those today as well! I should have put an isolated power brick in there. I am an idiot.
  20. I am old enough to agree with you If a Smith is not all lighter wood down the middle etc, is it really a Smith?
