  1. No under the vol, tone and switch. Thanks.
  2. My guess is that my 415 would take this control plate. Am I correct?
  3. Yep, and it is not about volume. It is about headroom. Just luxury.
  4. John has been remarkably patient with me and has done fabulous work on leads.
  5. Where is THE TOOOOOOOONE!!!1!1!!!!!? It is in real, properly resourced headroom. I used to run a Chevin power amp of this type of size. It was like riding around in a Bentley. All the power you needed on tap, but in general just a really refined experience.
  6. Thanks M R. I guess it is just one of those twiddling my thumbs periods then
  7. Does anyone have a clue about what is happening with this? I am expecting a parcel which is going to transform my quest for THE TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONE!!!!!!11111!!!!!!1!11!!1. It was posted from the US on Jan the 5th and tracking has just stopped on Jan the 10th. I am not worried that it has been lost. I would just like to get my hands on it.
  8. I do actually feel your pain. I have just sent a bass to BassBros to sell. I have proved to myself again and again (and again) that I am not that fretless bloke. Yet I spent a couple if days thinking about it again.
  9. Let's face it, you are a bass tart and will go with any bass. Or is that just me?
  10. I have an RE 20. It is great but needs a front end which will deliver a hefty dollop of gain. I realise I am veering off topic, but a bump is a bump!
  11. This is the advice you are looking for. I am biased and love my MTD Kinsgton. But that aside, it has hit it's resale floor and it will be an easy way to get your money out again if 5 is not for you. I know we all dream that we will bond with THE ONE but the reality is that what we are looking for changes and not taking a huge 40% hit on money in an instrument is a very good thing. Preamp yes or no? As soon as the drummer and guitarmageddon kick in, no one is going to be saying "dude, you tone was speaking to me. Your subtle lift at 2Khz let me see into your soul." More bass? Yes. More treble? Yes. Less of both? Yes. I am aware that this is a contentious opinion.
  12. Thanks. I suspected there might be info in the thread, but 350 pages made feel weak. And being BC, someone actually know the answer straight away.
  13. I am guessing this is where the Yamaha bods hang out. I have a 5 string BB425 (I think) and would love a chrome control plate like the one in this picture because you can never have enough chrome. Does anyone have any idea where I might buy one? Google has given me somewhere in Indonesia which is entirely cool, but I was wondering about somewhere closer?
  14. Thanks, I am actually looking for software to broadcast services. Zoom is fine because it is ubiquitous so not an issue for our more mature members. But the audio is driving me nuts. I have tried the bonkers compression/limiting, but that has not made it better. It is possible that the audio is dodgy throughout but not showing so on spoken word.
  15. It has been suggested that my photography skill have not put this in the best light. And that is not wrong. I have done some in ordinary room lighting and some with a flash. Getting the colour right is tricky. It is slightly too "POPPING" with the flash, but without the flash it is not showing in all it's bubblegum glory.
  16. It is a pedalboard thang which came with a bunch of George L cables. Ta.
  17. Ta. I would use YT, but we cannot have the community multiple screens thing then. Any other thoughts? Zoom visually is fine, the audio is just bizzare.
