  1. Still liking mine. I even have a little rampesque thing at the end of my fingerboard. You are correct, it is not a bass for slap. But I have not slapped in anger for..... I am not sure if I ever have.
  2. It is white?
  3. Cracking!
  4. I keep looking at my Kala and wondering how much it would cost for me to get a 5 string neck made and fitted, and modifying the bridge?
  5. I have used it as a spot the mistake excercise for my students for years. I have spoilt it for generations of them. I wish my stuff was well loved enough to be critiqued by millions.
  6. I have asked BassBros for a pickup, so this is the last bump.
  7. This is better news. I am glad to hear it. Musicians are nothing but trouble wherever you find them!
  8. @bass_dinger sorry to hear this. Working with creatives (including us) can be tricky wherever we are. I would expect no difference with the Church. We are more than aware that we have so not got it together. I pray that you find a church where you can be in fellowship. If we are in the band or not in the band is secondary. While I am on this thread, can I ask a zoom question? We are still doing the zoom thing. When it is one speaker the feed is fine. As soon as the band kicks in it is glitch o'clock. This can be with original sound for musicians on or off. It could be our upload speed but that is hardwired so the wifi wobbliness is not an issue. I guess one speaker will not be providing the full spectrum info to hear glitching where it is or not happening. It can sound as if someone is riding the faders mischievously. Any thoughts? I will try a YT broadcast after church this morning to see what happens.
  9. 20 minutes! Not bad All yours. Let us go to PM.
  10. I bought one of these for my son. It was not for him. https://www.thomann.de/gb/thomann_accessory_bag.htm Unused. Price to your door.
  11. https://youtu.be/zbU9OsbPZQQ
  12. Seeing as I love this bass sound, that is not a bad thing. https://youtu.be/pGM5VdYCnAo
  13. That looks interesting. I shall get onto YT.
  14. Every little helps.
  15. I see what you did. Nice co-ordination happening there.
  16. The picture includes a nice piece of lignum vitae. I have NO idea why I bought that.
  17. STOP IT! You know how that would end.
  18. For the wood enthusiasts in our midst.
  19. 20 years ago I would have done! That is the problem.
  20. Interesting, but I am afraid that I am after the purity of the wood. I like to follow grain all the way around. I am aware that I need to get out more! But thanks for engaging!
  21. I am deeply grateful for the extensive like-age for my opening post, but would prefer someone to like it enough to buy it!
  22. I can see what you mean, but my experiences of wood/drilling/fitting anything suggest this is a job for someone who has manual dexterity which I do not possess. I could POSSIBLY make one function, but it would not look like it should always have been there. And that would render it useless in my eyes. But thank you for the suggestion.
  23. I am flattered that you even imagine I know what a broaching tool is without having to google it!
  24. Thanks S'manth. I actually have two pieces of Ebony I have been saving for the right occasion. As well as a piece of Cocobolo for vol and tone knobs. I bought some stock from a guy who inherited some stock from a bagpipe maker so they are old and dry. As a special treat I shall take a pic of them tomorrow.
