  1. Candy Apple Red. Lushness.
  2. £1K for that is...............uncool.
  3. I am having a bass painted at the moment. It will be reliced. I like relic and do not care to discuss it's relative merits if this upsets anyone. This probably feels like a thread derail but bear with me. My favourite neck is a bare wood rosewood one. But my second favourite neck is a very dirty and probably stripped 73 P neck (A nut width if anyone cares). Would a couple of coats of Osmo give me that bare wood feel? I do not want to leave it as bare wood, partly due to the colour issue. I would like it to be a bit darker than plain maple - that vintage aged thing. It is having a matching headstock so I guess the whole headstock would be nitro'd. If I asked the painter to leave the rest could I just Osmo it up? I do not care about future discolouring. Thanks and sorry for a slight derail, but it looks like you are an Osmo-whisperer. It goes without saying that your work looks lush.
  4. Mutter...mutter...if....mutter.... 5 string... mutter....
  5. Busted. I like to bass on the side. Owen Peredur actually. Not a name you see every day.
  6. I would like to point out that, as the OP, this is the correct answer. As a side note OP are my first 2 initials and hence my family nickname, so every time I see OP I wonder how people know me.
  7. I think the contrarian in me could actually live with body shape. I am going to that London on the 25th. I hope it is still there. I would love to try one.
  8. US 5 string Jazz in for a relic respray.
  9. Does it share a preamp with the Bongo? That is immense!
  10. There are all sorts of things which are correct about this bass - but the back of it is particularly correct!
  11. And there is your answer. Any power amp which is compact enought to move around as you want will be doing the same as the power section in your MB. A Crest CA9 would be a whole different kettle of fish. But it would be a very different transport experience.
  12. The LM3 fx return trick works. Don't fix it. There is NO CHANCE that at playing at home volumes you will hear any difference.
  13. I have never, ever cut bass on an active preamp.
  14. I must admit, I am immediately thinking of left hand positioning here.
  15. I cannot get enough of this. He really is as lyrical as it gets for me.
  16. I recently put a dining table and chairs on FB Marketplace. I have had 2 people offering me couriers with cash. It is a £75 set up. I cannot imagine what they think they are going to get in the deal if it is a scam. One wanted them sent 4.5 hours away on a courier. I cannot understand why they are putting the time in on such a deeply unexciting sale.
  17. Like Sunday morning.
  18. COMEDY GOLD!!!!!!!!!!

    Why? oh Why?

Fair point. BUT, as you know, they are SO much better. I have been through 3 Bravewoods and put them all against my 66J. They scratched exactly the same itches. If I played 4 strings I would stop right there.

    Why? oh Why?

I totally agree with all you have said. There are so much better out there. But each to their own.
  21. I also have no interest in sustain, but my 36" neckthrough Overwater has monster sustain. Not anything I am fussed about, but the immediacy it speaks with and consistency in that the bass does not eat any of the energy is quite exciting. £70 towards the next one! Excellent.
  22. I put a Badass on a J bass I had. I went back to the BBOT bridge. It was different. Not better, or worse. But for me - not worth the effort.
  23. You could 3D print a pickup cover to suit. So I am told!
