  1. I am kind of hankering after a Sei J5 and could add a bit of ££...............
  2. I admire someone who will take a hit for the team
  3. Harpists spend 95% of their time tuning and 5% of their time playing out of tune. What is the difference between a Harp and a Harley Davidson? They are both associated with Angels, but you can tune a Harley. I am married to a harpist and gig with another one, so am licensed to tell harp jokes. They think I am hilarious.
  4. Yummy. G&L do better finishes than any other mainstream manufacturer.
  5. Interesting. I must Nectar myself up. Ta.
  6. paid for with nectar points Tell me more!
  7. It sounds like a Rhodes or a Wurlitzer. It is proper lush. I do not use it. New 5 months ago. What was I thinking? I do not play keys. Ho hum. To your door.
  8. This is an onboard headohone amp. To be wired into the control cavity. And it has a mini jack in so that you can jam along to whatever floats your boat.
  9. BC - where the UBER geeks hang out. I salute you!
  10. I had a D-180 for a long time. It was a US spec one and I had to carry a huge yellow building site transformer with me. Real drag. My local incompetent guitar shop told me it was impossible to sort it out for UK voltage. My brother who is an Electrical Engineer just took different taps off the transformer and it was all good. If I was anywhere near this for pickup I would be monitoring the sale quite closely! Cos I REALLY need a 4U valve power section now that I have gone to active PA cabs for any backline I might never use again.
  11. Yep, resale trumps all. "The one" there is not. The chase only there is.
  12. Basses come, basses go. The one there is not, the chase only there is. If you will always reach for the MM then the other two are not going to be used. Flog them (or trade - better VFM) and get another MM as a backup. >I know it's subjective, and could be a sprawling, non-sensical ramble, but that's BassChat isn't it? Ain't THAT the truth. In 40 years of playing I have NEVER been asked "Do you have another bass to try for a different flavour" in a band or in a session. I am sure those situations exist but I have not seen it. For my personal satisfaction, yes. To the rest of the world a bass is a bass.
  13. Yes. If it is in one ear and is there because of playing volume then you can protect the other ear. This is big AND clever. Do it now. Or kick yourself in 4 years time.
  14. Sometimes you will get tempted to throw caution to the wind and play without earplugs. In the moment it is great. Afterwards it is not. And afterwards lasts much longer than the moment.
  15. If you have a digital desk it might multitrack to a HD. I know the A&H stuff does, as do some of the Behringers and many others. By doing that, you can record a service and then practice mixing for a live stream.
