  1. Cheers to you Count Bassy! The days of The Shortlist, wow, many a year ago as the band backing for Roger Chapman. i think Wilbarston Hall was about 6 years ago andI think that venue isn’t holding gigs anymore.
  2. I can confirm that I am! Always trying to get Buddy over to the U.K. I was hoping for end of this year but many venues book so so far ahead it’s kinda difficult to arrange a decent enough tour for Buddy. We were on the 2017 UK 36 date tour with John Mayall. Lots of new fans off that tour for Buddy so I agree that something more should occur now!
  3. I took my GS Mini back after a couple of months from new to have the action and one fret buzz sorted so they aren’t exactly perfect out if the box every time. Unless the neck relief/ truss rod is not set up good then it must be a high nut or high bridge needs sorting?

  5. Break Wind and Fire.......seen many years ago north of England ...did they start it all?
  6. As an experiment some years ago I once tried pushing a pole piece upwards to be closer to a string to try and gain more volume off that string but the pole piece stopped responding and lost volume. Luckily pushing it back down regained volume so I could only assume maybe I earthed out that pole piece?
  7. Electric bread cutter
  8. Combo in good condition, all knobs working, a couple of scrapes on the material and a decent enough sound from this 15 watt combo. It’s done its job for me well enough for plugging in a bass and MP3 player to learn songs at home. Ive had it for about eight years, bought as new second hand condition and now replaced with more of an upmarket combo. NE Hants collection. I have a box for anyone wanting to pay to have it couriered and can drop off at local Hermes or maybe another courier shop. Could be under a tenner with this low insurance price for that.
  9. It may help to say where you are based as there will probably be someone can help quicker if they knew?
  10. Grip with pliers lengthways down the shaft enough to grip and start moving the rubber and pull upwards. If not then use a stanley or other knife to cut away the rubber. Two screwdrivers, one either side and twist them to start the rubber moving up the shaft.
  11. Correct about the wire wool..some iPad problems typing all that out. I use Tru oil for body finishing taking up to ten coats. I haven’t used it on a raw wood neck as an oil finish so keep checking on that.
  12. Danish oil, applied via a rag and let it soak in a few minutes then a clean rag to clear away excess. Slight roughness might appear after a few plays but fine wire will and maybe a little re application of oil will sort that.
  13. Sitting in the workspace unused since a neck was taken off some time ago so maybe someone would like it for a project. A nice two piece European ripple ash body currently with a Tru oil finish which is fairly easy to sand back. Curved shape, jazz pickups, maple wood cavity cover, ebony piece in the neck socket, I think raising the neck a tad at some point to help when another Hipshot bridge was in place. Measurements on the vernier gauge are neck slot depth and width. There is a tiny point on the body back where its likely too long a screw was used for a pickup. Body width 12 " ...Body length 19.75" ...Neck slot width at top 60.18mm (close approx) ...Neck slot is slightly angled down from a depth of 15.9mm angles to a drop approx 16.5. I havent figured what post would be...more later if there is any interest.
  14. I compared the weight of a SM 58 bought from a high profile shop and the actual weight shown for that mic on Shures own website. My mic didn’t match the website weight yet the mic performs as well as another sm58. Different components, metals, who knows but even calling Shure did not clarify this.
  15. A very easy and pleasant transaction with Chris in N.I. for my Fender bass, great communications, cheers Chris.
  16. Fan bought off EBay and fitted. I had to unsolder the old fan wires off as they had the right size clip lug for connection to the board. I finally got a reply from ‘Samson’ saying no parts available anymore because it’s a discontinued model. Thanks for the heads up Steve.
  17. Marvelous choice Bean9seventy.......‘‘twas my good self on bass herein. The band members all survive to this day I’m very happy to add! We were into Chick Corea’s Return to Forever with Stan the Man on bass who had already started putting out his solo vinyl stuff.....
  18. I heard of his name too many years ago. A good job he sorted himself out after 1971 but not so good where it says he helped Ms Streisand write a hit song but he never received recognition, or royalties! Beware fellow bass players.
  19. Both my LMB 3 amps take only a few seconds to ‘clear the pathway of sound’ before allowing the signal clearly through. You may have some other issues going on if you have ten seconds before the signal is clean and you reckon that possibly ambient air temps are appearing to affect. Check your cables too though, maybe just maybe one cable has a connection issue, maybe try the amp through another speaker if possible. If that works fine then maybe the cabinet has an ‘loose’ internal connection.
  20. Brill, thanks Steve, I couldn't find it when I looked on Ebay! I'm pretty certain it is that make too but I will double check. Cheers
  21. thanks Norris, I've asked Real Electronics who service Markbass amongst other manufacturers and Im still waiting for a reply from Hal Leonard/Hartke/Samson on getting one. Spare parts, drive me mad! cheers.
  22. Norris...can you get Samson parts then? I'll have to take it apart to do that, all those damned screws!
  23. On the fan it has ........Mode rdh 8025s. 12v the amp is a SAMSON XML610. 600WATTS.
