1. Or.....try the MarkBass Ninja 2x12” 8 ohm cab that handles up to 800 watts, (you can always add a second cab to this 8ohm Ninja) and as I have this cab and the LM3 I can vouch for it. Or else you could run their other 2x12” cab which is the New York one that only comes as a 4 ohm cab but still 800watts and so your amp could only ‘safely’ run this single cab. It’s the expense to consider now!
2. Just beaten to the post here by Lozz........I'm afraid to say if you already have a 4 ohm cabinet already, you can't pair it with any other cab as the Markbass amp will only run a total load of 4 ohms. If you had two cabs of 8ohms each, then your amp will 'read' a 4 ohm load and give its full 500 watts power out into two cabs, bigger and better sound. I would have to say sell the present 4 ohm cab and get two of the 8 ohm cabs.
3. Ninja is great, lots of headroom but speakers to support it would be needed.
4. Maybe get it checked up for any possible signs of internal wear n tear...Real Electronics in Sheffield deal with MarkBass repairs.....0114 2442969
5. Good grief, just make it a prerequisite for everyone to have their home location in their profile so it shows up in the advert.
6. Yes it’s down to staff of the day. The check in staff at the ticket desk usually meet you at the gate too for boarding. If there is a difficult staff person, this is where they will finally get ya!
7. The picture looked worrying enough of a double bass upside down but he seemed quite happy to do this. I guess the cost of buying a real heavy duty flight case and cost of hauling it around makes buying another seat cheap by comparison.
8. Are you saying you bough5 an extra seat for the basses? In an old Rufus Reid double bass tutor book, he shows pictures of how to situate a double bass on a seat, upside down/ neck to the floor and strapped in.
9. Agreed with Cheddatom, I've seen that done before, awful racket as a powered monitor was plugged into the (rear) PA speaker output of the amp.
10. Check out the latest Markbass Ninja 2x10 with the 500 watt head combo....another cab can be added if needed to this combo. There is a 250 watt Ninja combo.
11. I bought a Sony (XB20 I think) one from Argos, I think off their Ebay sales, about £55/60, its okay, I don't know much about bluetooth speakers so started off with this cheepie. Cases are available online but they won't hold the larger mains plug so I used an Apple usb wall plug.
12. Test message sent to me has appeared to sort it thanks and yes, at the time it wasn’t notifying me on the site.
13. A small glitch with the new server but I'm getting messages sent straight to my gmail account that are not showing in my message icon.....
14. My faithful now not faithful EBS chorus suddenly stopped working. I’ve wet soldered all points visible. The pedal allows signal through, foot switch works to turn ‘on’ the red effect light but there is no chorus signal at all. The original signal sounds fine. The casing is in good clean condition as it lived in a pedalboard. I know a Basschatter out there will be super whizz with electronics so anyone want to take this on as a challenge, feel free to get it posted to you at your cost.
15. Its dead as far as the chorus effect is concerned. I've wet soldered all contacts but nowt happening. New MXR replacement in the pedalboard now.
16. I did a gig last year with a (square cab not the rounded one) TC 2x12, very good and full sounding at low levels I used for that particular band. This prompted me to get a 2x12 cab but I went for the Markbass 2x12 Ninja, handles 800 watts but is 8 ohm. (The Markbass NY 2x122 is a 4 ohm cab at 800 watts). Terrific cabinet ! It could possibly do as a single cab for you instead of lugging two cabs about.
17. Carefully does it, internal damage possible, the poles in pickups can often not be moved too far before signal loss. Dimarzio have pickups that have screw poles, much easier but they can’t be moved too far before signal loss.
18. I’ve taken the board out and cannot see any ‘fried’ or dry solder joints. Ongoing repairs! Cheers
19. My EBS chorus pedal shows all signs of life but no chorus happening. The power light (from T Rex power supply) switches on, the cables are all good and the thru signal is as it should be but no chorus when the button is depressed. Anyone with knowledge of these electronic things is welcome to comment?
20. Allparts UK. They just sent me two CTS 500k centre indent pan/blend pots around £6.25 each (plus post) within a couple of days. Call and chat, very helpful info from them about which value pots you will need and maybe size as well.
21.
Hi all, Troubled individual seeking all in one cab. Please help. I play in a Green Day tribute band, playing venues ranging from very small to open air very large. I had an orange OB1 500, an Aguilar DB115 and 210 but they just weren’t doing it for me, on both sound and weight/size. So I’ve bought an Aguilar TH500 and require a suitable cab to accompany. At the moment I’m between Vanderkley and Barefaced. Any thoughts? Anything I’m missing? Unfortunately in the North East there’s very little to try in the shops (at least I can’t think of anywhere) so I’m reliant upon you fine folks. Answers on a postcard, or just below. Cheers!
If you are ‘missing’ any other make....I’ve been touring a MarkBass Ninja 2x12 which is the 800 watt 8 ohm cab, stand alone cab, working really well instead of my usual MB two 2x10 cabs. They also have a MarkBass NY 2x12 @ 800 Watts 4 ohm.
22. Its interesting that double basses/ violones stretching back hundreds of years had assorted numbers of strings, some three, four and five and even six strings. I find it fascinating that bass/ violone makers were exploring that territory way back then. What could they have sounded like. Here are a few pictures of basses one from 1683 of 5 and 6 string basses. Hope you people enjoy the pics as they aren't the greatest off the ipad. Fretted double bass in the book look like it used gut for frets up to the 7th fret!
23. Ninja 2x12 big thumbs up from me so far. I've enjoyed all the varied gigs it has performed on over the last three weeks.
24.
The cab is now £300 My little used Markbass 1x15" Traveller cabinet in nice tidy condition. Its the 8 ohm and 400 watt version, plenty of welly and helps make a big sound under another cab like a 2x10. Collection is in NE Hampshire not far off the A3, possible meet up the A3 or if you wanted to get a courier sorted I can be on hand for collection or drop off at a courier collection shop IF the chosen courier allows weight/size.
