SOLD MarkBass 15" Traveller cab Price drop to £300
mybass replied to mybass's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
My little used Markbass 1x15" Traveller cabinet in nice tidy condition. Its the 8 ohm and 400 watt version, plenty of welly and helps make a big sound under another cab like a 2x10. Collection is in NE Hampshire not far off the A3 or if you wanted to get a courier sorted I can be available.
Bump for a wee bit of a price drop -
A good Osteopath may help, if you haven't tried yet. Mine checked out strap length/height of my bass as too low can cause wrist problems. Also look at how your Thunderbird sits in relation to arm length for the 1st/lower frets on the bass. ie...Fender bass top horn strap button ends over the 12th fret area. Some modern basses over the 14th fret area. Where does the Thunderbird top strap button sit, it could be 'pushing' the neck/lower fret area position away from your body and possibly straining your wrist to operate easily.

Whoops....yes that may help it along, thanks Geoff.....did it on an iPad!! -
My Mistake, this should be in Amps and Cabs FOR SALE..... £325 My MarkBass 15" Traveller hasn't done that many gigs over the years and then usually coupled with a MarkBass 2x10. It's an 8 ohm 400 watt version, no cover but in nice clean condition. Collection in the NE Hampshire area....courier up to you....

Always....and on my trusty fretless too.
-
More gigs and this cab is definitely settling in very nicely. Very powerful if needed and I could dare to say a little better overall in showing off my fretless basses tone qualities.

I now have a Ninja 2x12 and first outings with it have been very positive. I haven't pushed this 800 watt cabinet to the limit but it has stood in for a stacked 2x10 with a Traveller 2x10 very well, obviously not as 'wide' dispersion as two cabs but all in all it handled volume very well in two different bands/venues.....two of these would be monster! MarkBass haven't followed that idea yet but a front ported 2x12 could be welcomed.
I'e owned a couple of Aerodyne basses. I replaced the pickups with Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounds. Not to everyones taste but I like them. So pickup wise it depends on what you're looking for. I always thought the pots did the job just fine. Never looked at them but they sounded good and worked without issue. The bridge is a pain though. Since it's a curved top and the bridge is recessed getting a fitting replacement is a bugger. I have seen a couple of different bridges. My Red Aerodyne had a bridge that had a thicker back plate than my blue one. Again I thought the bridges worked just fine but regular replacements like the Gotoh and Badass etc... will require modification to fit rather than just putting it on like a regular bass.
I have the same problem with a recessed bridge for area. It seems a little careful routing is needed to fit a high end replacement. I was thinking of the Babitz.

Your side dots will be in the wrong place if you go fretless. You will have to play on the 'lined' fret to be correct on the note and that (usually) isn't in line to where the dots are on the side of the neck. You might have the dots removed and replace with new ones in the correct position. This will be where the fret line is....or was if you have a new fingerboard put on. Scale length may be a problem and practice makes perfect. I'm using my new 33" scale fretless with side dots and the change from 34" has been fine though I've played fretless since yesteryear.
