Fee? I'll have to look into this.
I cannot see anywhere in FAQ and Rules about fees.....all to do with donations if a sale goes through which is what I have done in the past.

headless bass....I keep getting lost....am I loosing my head?
mybass replied to iconic's topic in General Discussion
I always fancied a headless bass....to go with my mullet 'n highlights, skintight jeans, leather box jacket or pale yellow jacket with sleeves rolled up for that Don Johnson look.... So I bought a really sweet active 80's Jack Bass off here (thanks Ivan ), it's beautiful thing, excellent build quality, great and very varied selection of tones, super low action.....lower than a snakes belly in a rut, doesn't loose tune, great balance....so whats the catch, this really IS a good bass...? well.....I seem to get lost on the fretboard....playing 2 steps up, unless I really think what I'm doing and I'm lazy so this comes hard to me. I have even had the Jack sitting on my knee along with a jazz at the same time, to try and figure if there is a difference in where the fretboard sits in relation to each other......result, from this scientific experiment is that there is no difference, so it's all in my head. Anyone else had this issue with a headless....at the moment I'm even thinking of putting on some of the decal kit block inlays to help, black and white, very 80's. ....most likely just me and my lack of prowess on basses
I think the Jack Bass top horn, where the strap button is, may fall 1 to 2 frets short of being in line with 12th fret position which is where 'Fender' style balancing reaches to. When the Jack Bass bass is strapped on, it may therefore be sitting in a different 'bass to body' position than a Fender bass. I first got the notion of this shorter top horn with Warwick basses, couldn't figure out why I sometimes played out of position, gradually got used to it. -

Headless 4 String Fretless Unlined + Gigbag...Poss. trade.
mybass replied to mybass's topic in Basses For Sale
A four stringer headless bass with some very nice pieces of wood involved in it's build...... Old mahogany wood on the back with a very nice 'sheen' to it. A very nice piece of black walnut on the top. The neck is a 5 piece maple/wenge 34" scale with a Macassar unlined ebony fingerboard which is excellent for fretless bass with large 3mm side dots. (Macassar is very often used for double bass fingerboards, not quite as 'hard' a sound as black ebony). Two Seymour Duncan pickups (non active) with volume, pan and tone controls. The licensed tuning mechanism with the end string retainer (which is slightly marked) was bought as a 'seconds' unit so I can't say this part is new. (New complete units were extremely expensive when I was looking as opposed to cheaper units). I've built quite a few basses as orders and for myself over the past 18 years as a 'part time luthier', aside from keeping up being a full time player. The body design was taken from the top bout of a P bass with my own lower bout design with the 'violin' type cutaway. A correct size 'headless' Warwick gig bag is supplied with the bass. It is lovely to play, big sound with these pups, strong sturdy neck with two strap holders at the end for choice of position/angle of the bass when worn. The bass has sat around the 'bass cupboard' at home for 3/4 years now so it looks like I'm not a headless bass player! (sic) Visitors welcome to try it out through some Markbass gear. Considering parts cost and labour I would be looking for ........ NOW £700
BUMP -
Anyone use a microphone that attaches to the double bass? If so: - which one? - do you use the microphone only? Or do you mix the signal with a pickup? - volume of the band? any insurmountable feedback problems?
I have the AMT/Applied Mic Tech' one. Only used it for a recording but excellent result.
This bass has quite a bit of eye catching wood involved...... Old mahogany wood on the back, black walnut front, maple and wenge neck. 34" scale with Maccassar ebony f/board and side position dots. Seymour Duncan pickups (non active). mP3 soundclip is available by email. The bass was recorded direct through a Yamaha desk, no effects of compression added, just the straight DI signal. I would be interested in a trade on this bass for a Markbass 3 and Markbass HF 2x10 (single front port, not the Traveller) A four string headless bass with some very nice pieces of wood involved in it's build...... Mark Bass F Series (True Power Rating Help)
mybass replied to neptunehealer's topic in General Discussion
Hello all. I have been gigging with a Mark Bass F Series head (limited edition) for a couple of years now. In fact i bought it off here. As i am now seeking to use it at 4 ohms i have entered the realms of needing to know it's maxcimum power output. I have looked online and i can't find an official spec, just seen for sale adverts. People selling them say it's rated 250@8ohms and 450@4ohms. I know it says 450W on the front of the head, but on the back of the head on a silver plate it says Power rating = 550W So is my head 450@4ohms or 550@ohms? Here's a pic of it to help you to help me. [url="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=Mq&sa=X&tbo=d&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&biw=1280&bih=707&tbm=isch&tbnid=xbq7HlBHEX8-nM:&imgrefurl=http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f8/anybody-using-bass-rig-completely-non-us-uk-918111/index2.html&docid=At2EyEbyvjR_0M&imgurl=http://medias.audiofanzine.com/images/normal/markbass-little-mark-f1-limited-edition-315346.jpg&w=3264&h=2448&ei=Ryj5UM2dMc2W0QXMqoD4Ag&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=1&sig=109946944603662019504&page=1&tbnh=142&tbnw=186&start=0&ndsp=31&ved=1t:429,r:1,s:0,i:86&tx=71&ty=43"]http://www.google.co...:86&tx=71&ty=43
I think the amps are 'moderately' rated a little below what they actually can put out. -
Bugera 'Classic' Bass Series 10" Speaker 300 watt 4 ohm I've just taken apart a Behringer 2x10 cabinet. There was no sound from the cabinet when plugged in. One speaker appears dead and the other one appears good. I assume this by linking a P9 battery to the speaker terminals which audibly moves the speaker if working or not.....I have not played through the speaker. I also have the horn and crossover from the cabinet. If anyone wants the speaker (or all) for free, good for spares maybe......
BUMP
