  1. I have one of these and it’s rock solid. I don’t use it as my main board anymore but it’ll forever have a job serving as secure pedal storage/protection. It feels practically bomb-proof!
  2. Great review!
  3. Sold for £89 with £18 postage 🤨
  4. About 12 minutes left on this and still bidding at £56! Someone better snap it up...
  5. Black or purple
  6. Bloody hell, that sounds like legit standalone synth keybass!
  7. Ah yes. I watched this video only a few days ago. Looks great!
  8. I reckon you’ve made the right move there. The Deluxe big muff is much, much more versatile. Only downside vs the Pork & Pickle is the footprint but it’s a price worth paying I think.
  9. Ha! Wise.
  10. One of the best octavers around! Fat, juicy tones all day.
  11. Also, weirdly, I don’t particularly care for sienna burst 🤔
  12. Both Sandberg and Sire call them Tobacco Sunbursts https://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/product/13081309551158--sandberg-electra-vs4-tobacco-sunburst https://www.thomann.de/gb/marcus_miller_p7_swamp_ash_5_ts.htm Though to be fair the MTD Saratoga I posted is described as “honeyburst”. I just think that more and more manufacturers are in agreement that there are too many sh*te looking tobacco bursts out there so they’ve upped their game and started making them look better. That’s what I’d like to think anyway...
  13. Powerhouse board for not much money!
  14. I hated tobacco bursts until about a year or two ago then it all changed... For me though, a handsome underlying wood grain is essential!
  15. I reckon the key will be making sure the shell pink doesn’t turn out too pink! Anyway, based on what I was able to spec up online it looks like it’s gonna come in at just under €2k which is terrifying. To be fair I added quite a few extras...it’s an Elwood L with swamp ash body, carbon neck rods, white ebony fretboard, abalone headstock logo, hipshot bridge, ultralight tuners etc so I’m sure I could knock that price down by at least 300 quid just by being less extravagant. It’s a “dream build” though so if it ain’t extravagant then what’s the point? Extravagant or not I certainly can’t afford it right now
  16. I’ve spent a few days mulling over my dream build but the configurator doesn’t let me create exactly what I’m after. Basically it will kind of look like this: probably with a single P pickup, passive, a bit like the Mark Hoppus sig In shell pink (not roadworn) with tort guard But with a transparent finish over a textured ash body like the “white rabbit” basses:
  17. I reckon try sending them an email saying you would like the same bass but with different neck colour and string spacing. Literally send a link to the page in your email and ask if they’ll match the price. The worse they can say is no!
  18. Maruszczyk GAS resurfaces!
  19. This. Nylons will be fine, Flats I’d worry about.
  20. Just gonna leave this here...
  21. Very jealous! There was a pretty heavily modded red one for sale here a year or two ago that I wish I’d picked up. Looked incredible! No idea who bought it but I’d be tempted if it came up for sale again...
  22. I kinda expected it to be around this price to be honest. It’s still good value when you consider pricing up an alternative: An Ampeg SCR-DI (preamp, drive and headphone amp) costs between £199-215ish new and a spectracomp goes for anywhere between £85-105 new. Total cost £284-320. An EXH Battalion (£136 new) does much of what the Spectradrive does but you’d have to add a headphone amp to match it fully. A Phil Jones BigHead is an extra £175. Total cost £311. Although I appreciate the BigHead is also an audio interface and has an internal battery which goes above and beyond the feature set of the Spectradrive, so it’s not a completely apples to apples comparison. Even a Palmer Pocket Amp Bass, costing around £140 would still need a spectracomp added to it, bumping the price up to anywhere between £225-245. For the feature set offered and the form factor it’s presented in, there simply isn’t a direct alternative to this - especially for £209!
  23. I’m going down this route myself, as I’m one of those lazy bassists who simply cannot be arsed buying/changing strings regularly. Got the Black Tapes on my Sandberg P and am strongly considering putting flats on my MTD Super. We shall see. I’m holding off as it would mean not having a bass with rounds at all...but I may have to invest in a new bass to rectify that!
