  1. Much to my dismay, soul and funk bands tend to be thin on the ground everywhere 😩 and I say that as someone living in London!!
  2. This is a bit of a bargain. If it had Aguilar/Mesa/Radial on the box it would be selling for at least 2-3 times as much!!
  3. To whom it may concern:
  4. There are some seemingly identical Sadowsky knobs for sale in the “miscellaneous” section here, large and small sizes. Skip the customs nonsense!
  5. You do have a point - the Poweradd Pilot series were a “cleaner” solution. The BG75 is a 75 watt amp (hence the name) so I suspect you’ll be fine!
  6. One of the best delays out there. If I had the funds to spare I’d be all over this!
  7. That’s actually my favourite finish for the V7/P7s! Just goes to show...one man’s trash is another man’s treasure
  8. Agreed, but it may be worth it since it’s pretty much guaranteed you’ll get everything ou want and nothing you don’t?
  9. Never seen one of these, looks like a cross between a Lakland and a Stingray - in a good way! GLWTS
  10. I was eyeing this up a while ago for my Double Four - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01M9IZHA3/ref=sspa_dk_detail_3?psc=1 and its bigger brother - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Portable-RAVPower-27000mAh-Universal-Smartphone/dp/B01MDKHWNR/ref=dp_ob_title_ce Both of these are slightly different to the Poweradd Pilots as with these you would use the PJB Power Supply and plug it straight into the battery as though it were a normal power outlet socket.
  11. Quite honestly I’d say that fingerboard radius, while important, isn’t the sole factor thing to consider. String spacing (at the bridge and the nut,) string gauge (affecting tension) and neck profile are big contributing factors too and I’ve always found that the combination of them are very interactive in creating the overall feel of a bass. For years I assumed I didn’t like 19mm string spacing because I’d played a couple of Ibanez BTB 5 stringers which had necks that felt to me like aircraft carrier decks. Once I’d found my Ibanez BTB33 5er with 17mm spacing I was happy. Then about 6 months ago I was drawn to the look of MTD Kingstons but was sceptical on the basis of their 19mm string spacing...until I tried a few of them out. The fingerboard radius is actually very similar to the BTBs but the neck profile and spacing at the nut make it one of the most comfortable basses I’ve played. In the past I’ve sold basses thinking I didn’t get on with the scale length but in hindsight I realise that it was the string gauge causing a tension I didn’t like which was the real problem. A different set of strings would have been a cheap and easy fix but I didn’t know that at the time. So my advice would be to try out as many basses as you can, including some that don’t appeal to you on paper. You’re likely to surprise yourself.
  12. I like to use right angled cables and the recessed cup output socket didn’t allow some of them to fully engage. So I had the bass upside down, headstock on the floor, trying to see if I could adjust the socket to allow for more cable clearance...I rotated the body a bit to get better access and heard a loud “click”. Looked down to see the clover head of the g string tuner was sitting there on the floor! And that is why I shouldn’t attempt my own bass mods
  13. Oh and to remain on topic, I can confirm that the neck is very slim
  14. Yep, I’m very impressed with my Electra VS4. As Cuzzie says, their customer service was pretty damn remarkable considering the company had received zero money directly from me. I couldn’t believe it. The evening that I foolishly snapped my g string tuning peg I emailed Sandberg asking if I could buy new tuners Direct from them, and Holger himself replied about 4am simply asking “Where do you live?”. I told him my address and a little over a week later I had a shiny new tuner through my letterbox. As far as the quality of the bass itself, I have zero complaints. Yes it’s Sandberg’s “entry level” line but the whole bass looks and feels top notch. If you didn’t know it was the entry line and someone just handed you the bass for a blind test you’d never know. It’s just rock solid, well finished and lightweight too! I have one of the older Electras in a lovely satin tobacco burst with the classic precision shape from before Sandberg changed the body styling. Picked her up for about £350 which I’d happily spend again to be honest. I’ve spent a little under £150 on mods done at The Bass Gallery - got the replacement tuner installed, had the neck “satinized” (I prefer satin necks to gloss) and got a passive tone knob added to the existing 2-band EQ stack. Oh and I put some La Bella Black Nylon Tapewounds on it which I’m absolutely loving. The bass is definitely a keeper. I just wish they did the Electras in 5 string versions too!
  15. If I didn’t already have a spare set I’d be biting your hand off! Stick em on a Precision and wait for the grin to spread. Takes a little time to get used to the feel but it’s worth it IMO.
  16. Just spotted a few good deals on B Stock monitors. Enjoy! 17. The simple solution is indeed a Yamaha BB. However, for those of use who are still after this particular aesthetic (early 50’s slab PJ) it may have to be a Maruszczyk job...
  18. Regardless of performance, these line array systems look pretty damn cool.
