  1. Ah, the 1605/1606. Deep Twilight Flat I think, but I may be wrong. You’re right, they looked amazing! There are a few new model BTBs in the same finish but not with the Nordstrand pickups and the upgraded preamp!
  2. The 1206 has Barts. I believe the first BTBs to have Nords were the 1405 and 1406
  3. A year or two ago it was Nords across th whole “premium” range, but with the latest generation it seems Ibanez have gone for Aggies in all the BTB premiums and Nords in the SR premiums. I can understand why they did it as it’s another big contributing factor in differentiating between the two models. Not necessarily ideal for those of us who, for example, may prefer the BTB body shape but the tone of Nordstrands! No doubt you’ll be getting a killer sounding bass though, regardless of pickup brand.
  4. I’m not sure that splitting the current doubler across outputs with different voltages is the best idea. After all, it’s called a current doubler, implying that it expects to be fed with equal power. A multimeter would be a decent idea to make sure you know what you’re dealing with - I wouldn’t want to fry a pedal in the act of experimenting with voltages! There are adapters which are specifically designed to convert a single 9v output to 12v, such as the Gigrig Supanova but at nearly £60 it ain’t cheap. They can be found used every now and then for less though.
  5. Have to say that you and the whole SBL team really nailed it. Made my LBGS experience truly memorable and inspiring. Massive thanks to you guys for putting all that work in!
  6. I’ve had one of these for years. Very useful to have around. GLWTS
  7. That comes as zero surprise to me, sadly.
  8. I contemplated having a chat with Dave Boonshoft on Sunday but thought better of it as I suspected I’d struggle to control the urge to make some snarky comments on Aguilar’s current prices... Especially after being relatively unimpressed by the SL112s I had just played through
  9. Oooh. Do you have any sound clips/videos of you playing it?
  10. I’ve never tried TI flats so I wouldn’t want to say, though there are plenty of folk on here who know TIs well and could offer advice ...anyone?
  11. Tapes are typically quite loose/low tension and so I can’t see any reason why there’d be a problem with through-body stringing. The issues tend to arise when you have very stiff/high tension strings like flats, which are vulnerable to breakage when bent at an acute angle. With tapes you should be fine.
  12. Yep, got one of the Rean connectors in my pedalboard first aid kit. Ordered it when I bought my Smooth Hound Wireless!
  13. Any more Alpher love? My appetite has been whetted...
  14. Truly! Alan’s basses look even better in the flesh
  15. Either of these beauties perchance?
  16. 99% of these power cables are mass produced somewhere in the Far East, regardless of whether they’ve come bundled with a top end Voodoo Labs PSU, a Harley Benton PSU, a basic 1Spot daisy chain or from an independent eBay seller. I’ve had zero issues so far with mine. They’ll do the job!
  17. I was a bit gutted not to have picked one of them up and had a play! It was at the very end of the day yesterday just before the Olympia staff started announcing the show’s closure. My interest is definitely piqued though. From what I saw, the craftsmanship looks top notch.
  18. I’ve bought plenty of 2.1mm power cables, couplers, adapters etc from an eBay store called Plugz2Go. I messed up one of my orders (ordered 2.5mm connectors by mistake) and they were really great about changing my order and dispatching everything quickly once the changes had been made.
  19. I got to witness some of this little jam session. Some great playing from all involved and I must admit it gave me a little bit of GAS for a Gillett Contour!
  20. Bought 2 sets of Labella Black Nylon Tapewounds from John for a bargain price. He posted them very swiftly and I’m loving them on my Sandberg P bass. Top seller and a nice guy - deal with confidence.
