  1. Oooh yes!
  2. This is interesting. I find I can get on with pretty much any nut width without noticing any difference really. Neck profile, fingerboard radius and string spacing at the bridge are what I “feel” more when playing.
  3. If you want something with similar protection as the Mono but at a fraction of the price, I’d go for either a Protection Racket Deluxe case, a Gator ProGo or the aforementioned Fusion case, though I prefer the first two aesthetically.
  4. I was surprised by the difference too. I adore the MTD, just don’t expect to be slinging into the back of tour vans full of other gear etc...but if you’re gonna be travelling with your basses by car, bus or train and carrying/wearing it most of the time it’ll be absolutely fine. It blows most other “gig bags” away as far as build quality.
  5. Yeah it’s a good case but it’s pretty huge. The Gator dual and the Mono dual were hanging up on a wall in Bass Direct last time I visited, so I decided to take a photo to compare their thickness. Gator on the left, Mono on the right - See below.
  6. Behold the MTD Double gig bag on the right compared with a Protection Racket Deluxe case (which is a little thicker than the equivalent Mono offering but similar in to the Gator ProGo I believe)
  7. The Gator ProGo, while much cheaper than the mono equivalent is around 50% deeper, making it a lot more cumbersome. Very well made though. For something much lighter and sleeker I can very highly recommend the MTD double gig bag. Whether you own an MTD bass or not, it’s a really good bag with better padding than most and good storage space.
  8. It’s all subjective, really. Ive found I personally favour MB’s 15” cabs over their 10s and 12s but when you have a whole slew of incredible players out there who regularly gig and record with MB amps and cabs (the likes of Marcus Miller and Michael League come to mind) I don’t think it’s in any way fair to label them as rubbish. We all have differing tastes but it has been said numerous times both here and Talkbass, the cabs can sound a bit “ordinary” up close but really come into their own when out in the room/in the mix with the rest of the band.
  9. Another vote for the Polytune/Unitune clip. Sturdy construction, fast and accurate. You’ll never need another clip on tuner again. Unless you lose it. Then buy another.
  10. That is outrageous. Very cool!
  11. I was far too lazy to read the full thread
  12. @Al Krow, it sounds to me as though the Yammy pups are simply exposing weaknesses in your Markbass rig 👀 If the issue is non-existent through your other rigs then the blame surely can’t be pointed at the Yamaha? New rig o’clock? 🤔
  13. @ForestPoetry, what’s your budget? Sire make great excellent instruments, no doubt. There are a few lovely MTD Kingstons currently for sale here on the forum. A tobacco burst KZ5, a very nice red gloss KZ5 and the AG5 Signature Kingston. You really can’t go wrong with any of them.
  14. Also, contrary to what seems to be popular opinion, I really don’t mind Sandberg and G&L headstocks at all. Quite enjoy the variety vs standard Fender-esque designs. Not a great deal of love for the Sire headstock though...but I wouldn’t let it prevent me from buying a Sire if it was the right bass in every other way.
  15. Ah, almost forgot. Not a fan of Musicmans with these round shaped scratchplates. Makes the bass look like a toilet: but I absolutely LOVE Musicmans with this shape scratchplate: They’re both Stingrays, so is the purpose of the scratchplates just to differentiate between 4 string and 5 string versions?
  16. For me, anything with too many angular/straight lines. I much prefer flowing curves. Oh and I have zero love for Rickenbacker aesthetics. Both the body and headstock are hideous IMO.
  17. This thread is the sole reason for me withdrawing my Micro Thumpinator from sale...
  18. @LeftyJ, the tragedy is that when I bought my Polytune clip a couple of years ago it cost about the same as the unitune clip costs now!
  19. Sweet baby Jesus
  20. Sounds like so,ethics not quite right inside your Polytune clip. Mine adjusts almost instantly to whichever way I have it turned. Takes maybe a second to orient itself.
  21. Considering I can fit more than £540 worth of pedals onto a Pedaltrain Nano, the HX isn’t bad at all.
  22. Fantastic amps. You literally cannot go wrong with these.
  23. @Fisheth, chorus built in?! How...?
