  1. Useful info but this surely depends on the scale of the bass? I’m assuming these measurements are based on 34” scale.
  2. I hear you re: placement. To be honest, even if the physical dimensions are no smaller than your usual amp/cab the tiltback option alone makes it more practical on a stage. Plus, unlike a traditional bass amp, it won’t look weird behind or in front of you. Options, options.
  3. Fender really need to start looking at what other builders are doing. The likes of Maruszczyk, Sandberg, Lull, Sadowsky, Moolon...the list of builders who seem to make better Fenders than Fender themselves at competitive price points is as long as my arm. There’s little incentive for many of us to buy a brand new Fender and the sale of used models obviously brings no new revenue in for the company. Out of interest, anyone know how Fender are doing, financially?
  4. My HD32A sounds great all the way down low on my 5ers and with my (many) octave pedals. To be fair, it’s in a higher league model-wise than almost anything else around, plus it’s a 12” not a 10”. Still, I’d imagine the QSC K10.2 would sound quite decent with a 5er. Not necessarily to carry a room but certainly as a personal monitor.
  5. Back up for sale. My first ever bass which actually spoiled me a little bit as it played so well it turned me into a picky buyer when looking for new basses. I still love the tone of this thing, even with dead roundwounds on it! Will come with a sturdy rigid foam case. Collection or meet up in London preferred.
  6. @lemmywinks Musicmatter in Preston stock the Yamahas but not the QSCs or RCFs. May still prove to be useful demoing a Yammy DXR though. If this thread is anything to go by, the QSCs sound better than the Yamahas so if you like the Yamaha then that may be enough to convince you to take the plunge on a QSC K10.2 without having to try it first?
  7. The noise floor in all its glory:
  8. Sweet baby Jesus. Briefly held a D-Bird at BassDirect once upon a time and it was just so nice. Great weight & balance. Didn’t plug in but I heard someone else playing it and it sounded great.
  9. I have to agree. I tried one out in Yamaha Music London about 3 years ago. One of the staff set me up in a lovely isolated booth, plugged into a good mixer & PA at moderate volume and it just sounded a bit dull to my ears. A shame as I quite liked the ergonomics.
  10. This is the newer rear ported model in a very pretty tweed finish. Pure Swedish quality and attention to detail. Frankly it’s the loveliest and potentially the last cab I’ll ever own. This has lived in the comfort of my home for the full duration of my ownership - I bought it from BassGear a couple of years ago but haven’t had the opportunity or need to gig it. A serious shame as it’s a real one cab solution and deserves to be used as nature intended! Inside is a 12” woofer with a 6” mid driver - no tweet but that mid driver goes up to 9.2k. You get sweet highs, great dispersion and clarity in the mids with none of the harshness associated with tweeters. Labelled as handling 450 watts @ 8ohms but will happily drink more watts than that, especially if you’re running fairly clean sounds. In short, it’s likely that your head will run out of steam long before this cab starts to sweat. Includes the very nice padded TKS cover which fits like a glove. Collection or meet up in/around London as I just won’t risk putting this in the hands of couriers. Info from TKS: Small and light, but with impressive lows and a clear mid range, the 1126 offers a tone few other cabinets do, and many bass players using the 1126 have finally found "their" tone. The great dispersion from the 6" speaker doesn't require tilting the cabinet to get clear mids up at ear level, and also spreads mid range clarity evenly across a stage, making more of the bass tone reach the audience and fellow musicians. Even though the 1126 has more mid range than most tweeterless cabinets, it can easily be altered through EQ to give a more "vintage" tone. Specifications: Impedance: 8 Ω Power handling (high average power test signal): 450 W RMS Recommended amplifier power: 250-600W RMS @ 8 Ω Sensitivity[average]: 94 dB SPL @ 1 W/1 m Sensitivity[100Hz]: 94 dB SPL @ 1 W/1 m Sensitivity[max]: 97 dB SPL @ 1,5 kHz, 1 W/1 m Frequency response (-10db): 33 Hz - 9,2 kHz Displacement: 496 cm³ Measurements (WxHxD): 52x45x44 cm Weight: 15 kg
  11. Yeah the Matte Amber looks the business. Why it’s taken them so long to do this I don’t know.
  12. “It’s the circle of GAS...and it rules us all...” 😂
  13. Thank you sir! When I get home I’ll post the full shot of the bass cave
  14. Ignore the Voicelive Touch here...
  15. I’ve got a ton of pedals but for my “clean” I disengage everything and just go dry bass > hi-Z input on mixer set flat > speaker. My basses sound phenomenal straight in with no tone shaping other than their own onboard EQ controls.
  16. In that case, getting yourself one of these monitors is the perfect move. I’ve just discovered this myself and now I can’t imagine having a better rig. My usage scenarios are identical to yours. A quality FRFR speaker is a jack of all trades and master of all.
  17. @JSB what context are you thinking of using one of these in?
  18. Somewhat reluctant sale but in an effort to reduce gear, needs must! Excellent octaver (OC2-esque but with its own flavour) and very tweakable drive/fuzz channel. If you’ve been considering a Red Witch Zeus or MXR Suboctave Fuzz, in my opinion this sounds much better than both of them and in a considerably smaller package. This is in immaculate condition, boxed with manuals. UK shipping included. Video below with demos for both guitar and bass:
  19. An absurd range of really good sounds in this thing. Few pedals deliver this kind of value for money! Just surplus to requirements right now. No box but will be well packaged. Price includes postage. 20. About 6 months old - used very lightly and in immaculate condition. Neatly applied Velcro (including on the underside) along with cable management clips which I can remove if required. Soft case is very clean. Comes with carry strap and original roll of “hook” side Velcro. Will be sent in its original box - shipping included in the price.
  21. Anyone into motorsport will be familiar with the term “power-to-weight ratio”. As effects power supplies go, this is probably the granddaddy in that respect. It’s so light I simply velcroed it to the underside of my board and it was solid as a rock. 5x fully isolated 9v outputs, each with a maximum current output of 500mA. So you can feed power-hungry digital fx units by the likes of Strymon, Eventide, Line 6 etc with ease, as well as doing what I did and daisy chaining several more “well behaved” analog pedals off of a single output. Zero electrical noise. Bliss. Comes boxed with all the included adapters, cables, paperwork etc. Price includes U.K. shipping.
