1. One of the first things I noticed about the Okto is that when glitching on a note it seems to revert to the unison note (I.e. the pitch you're actually playing on the string) in a smooth manner which doesn't sound as harsh or "obvious" as some other octavers.
2. Also, for less money, check out the Markbass SuperSynth and the EHX Bass Microsynth. For relative pennies the Digitech Bass Synth Wah has some very good sounds too.
3. Danny, what bass are you using to get such low tracking from your octavers??
4. My secret plan to assimilate all bass players to the dark side of octavers is slowly coming to fruition
5. The Okto and the Nøjs are separate circuits, so just stomp whichever side you want to hear. Or stack them, up to you. One thing I discovered when I tried running other octavers into the soloed Nøjs was that the actual "Nøjs" knob adds in another low octave circuit, so in order to stack a separate octaver before it you have to turn the Nøjs knob right down and use the rest of the controls on the dirt side of the circuit to get clean dirt...if that makes sense to anyone??
6. Ah yes, I messaged the seller and that's what they told me too. A part of me wishes it was a legit sale
7. £600 Buy It Now?! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/282680485048
8. MikanHanille - http://basschat.co.uk/user/12901-mikanhannille/ - bought the one that Bass Direct brought back from NAMM! Apparently (and rather unsurprisingly) it's an amazing instrument.
9. The Wahoo is a powerhouse for sure. It's a shame it doesn't get more airtime actually as it's so tweakable. Meanwhile, I'm just gonna leave this here... http://youtu.be/bw77brwlcp8
10. Good thing you got in here first. I was teetering on the edge!
11.
Cheers Bill, I forgot to mention that we Brits are a sucker for this irony thing, so perhaps not obviously when I said "obviously" I may not have meant 'obviously'. Clear?
I'm very confused.
12.
Are they? BF Two10 £519, Vanderkley MNT210 £725, Eich 210M £799 BF Super Compact, £569 Aguilar DB112 £709, Mesa Boogie Subway 112 £799 BF might cost more than cheap cabs but they are very reasonably priced in comparison to the quality cab league.
+1. Oh and of course the Darkglass 210 at over £900. Lest we forget.
13. It depends on which of the TKS range you go for. My 1126 would never be giggable with 40w as the drivers take quite a lot of power to get the best out of them. However, I know that the drivers in the S112 cabs are more sensitive and may therefore be a better choice. I would +1 the suggestion of Barefaced too as they are known to use sensitive drivers and are also notoriously lightweight. Get in touch with Mcnach on this forum, he has owned TKS S112 cabs in the past, as well as Barefaced Big Baby 2s. He's currently running a pair of Barefaced 210s so he will be able to give you the best comparison of them all.
14.
Obviously? Watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFKT4jvN4OE&feature=youtu.be
exactly!
15. The sibling to mine! Great basses.
16.
Wow! That's a good price from a firm with a great brand. However are their cabs likely to be anywhere near as good as the newbie DG gear, which is obviously going to be premium product given its price point?
I suspect the're just as good.
17. Wait a minute...how would a Josh Wah replace your Filter Twin and Two Notes Le Bass? Am I missing something?? I haven't got one because I'm saving for a new bass. Well actually that's a lie as I've just bought a Crowther Prunes & Custard from this very forum. Still - a new bass is on the horizon!
18.
Why would you presume that? If there's more gubbins in it and an extra feature, I'd expect it to cost a little more, not be the same.
Alright. Replace "presumably" with "hopefully"...
19. The Ojais come with DC cables with a right angle jack on one end and a straight jack on the other. So a trade off will have to made I guess.
