1. I think you have to specify a price...
2. I have this very same head and it's fantastic.
3.
Whatever you preference, or if you want to fit in on bass forums: 1. 'I set everything flat' 2. 'I eq to suit the ambience of the room' 3. 'I bump the mids a bit, mid scoop is for amateurs' 4. 'Everything up on full, that way every frequency will be heard equally. Then turn up master volume to taste.'
Ha. I'm a mixture of 2 and 3. Initially mix so I can hear myself on stage (which often means bumping the mids a bit) then with the freedom of my wireless system go out into the audience area and hear what I sound like from there, adjusting to the room as I go along.
4. I've heard these are killer fretlesses for the money.
5. Gorgeous bass. I've had MTD gas lately but must refrain!
6. Get it while it's hot. https://www.facebook.com/groups/guitarexchange/permalink/1522671587812470/?sale_post_id=1522671587812470
7.
Also checkout bassdirect's ibanez recently. There's a SR1405 for £575 used. Couldn't beat that price!
I saw that on Facebook yesterday and was shocked! It's a crazy low price, especially since you don't see those SRs in that colour very often.
8. I've never thought of that! As others have suggested, it should be fine if it's only a couple of frets maximum. Those first couple of frets are a few inches though so they'll go a long way. String gauge will obviously play a part in the end result.
9. Are you trying to capo the bass and tune it so it's still standard tuning (EADG) after being capo'd??
10.
Thats a lot of Basses. Surprised you didnt name the cat Peavey. He looks cool.
+1!
11.
Al, don’t get sucked into the classic pedal positions, really experiment. I know I said to you that an octave AFTER the Manta does some awesome things especially if you can add in an expression pedal, and you can set your octave for up or down. Dirt before a filter will definitely drive it and give your opening of the envelope a spark and a different flavour, but you may find a different order for your tastes, it’s like the compression at the start or end of chain debate. Remember you are soon to have 2 filter pedals so you can stack the filters if you get the right setting in the Manta. One of the ones the Manta will get you sounds very much like a talkbox. If I were you I would get another octave pedal and then you can have one before a filter and then one after a filter then it makes it easy! No hard and fasts here, chop and change em around
Big +1. At one stage I had Filter Twin > T16 > Okto-Nøjs > Manta > Pork Loin. So filter, octave, octave, dirt, filter, dirt!
12. This went for £75 +£5 postage in the end!
13. After a period of tweaking with my chain in the past, Octave > Dirt > Filter is the most pleasing sound to me. With things like chorus etc after that. I find that the attack and decay envelope of the filter kind of acts like a gate for the dirt, tightening up the end sound and making unruly/noisy dirt pedals quite usable.
14. Yeah some dirt (between octave and filter for me) can work wonders! Treat yourself.
15. This thread and the Filter thread are just GAS tornados...* *I acknowledge that I am a large contributor to said GAS tornados
16. I've definitely look upon both the Moog and the Future Impact with a lustful eye, however their large fort print and slightly awkward power requirements have always put me off. May have to give one or both of them a try at some point though.
17. For some reason that Facebook like is going to an error page for me... "Sorry, this content isn't available right now. The link you followed may have expired, or the page may only be visible to an audience you're not in."
18.
I can't co ordinate feet and hands, hands and hands is bad enough....
I know what you mean...I struggle with wah pedals
19. For what it's worth, I believe you can do much of what the Hot Hand can do with an expression pedal and the Soundblox Hub. I've just picked up a Hub and need to test out some of the routing possibilities.
