1. Massive +1 for the PJB Bighead. Such a quality unit in every way - It's tiny, solid and very clean sounding. Just perfect.
2. I don't think it's unreasonable to throw them into the mix. From what I've heard (though the online grapevine, sadly not in person) they're pretty phenomenal. And if the price is right there's potentially the option of building them and then getting someone like Zilla Cabs to make em look pretty, with change to spare vs the equivalent Barefaced/Vanderkley? Just hypothesising as I have no idea how much Jacks cost to make!
3. Fully agree about the odd labelling of jacks! I've always wondered why he hasn't changed that. As far as the knobs, I guess with this particular finish our options are either set & forget, or become familiar enough with the controls to know what does what without being dependent upon labels. We manage it on basses with active preamps just fine!
4. There's a COG Tarkin for sale in the classifieds. There are some great demos of it online, might be worth checking out? Seems quite versatile.
5. Oh go on then, PM incoming...
6. This does look pretty good to be fair. It has its limitations, for example only 3/4 and 4/4 time signatures are supported. I suspect Digitech may do what they did with the Trio line of pedals and release a "SDrum +" model down the line with more bells and whistles. Also, for those who care about such things, this is a thirsty little beast. 800mA current draw
7. This is madness. Especially if the original vintage versions cost less. Confused.com
8. I love Wunjo. Often seem to be spending money in there when I visit, probably due to their willingness to strike a tempting deal on things to make the sale. I've never bought a bass or amp from them but plenty of accessories - cables, pedals, cases and the like. Friendly staff too. They never seem too busy for a chat!
9. Just bought some daisy chain cables from Gareth. A very easy transaction - buy with confidence!
10. Presumably this is the original hot hand and not the HH3?
11. Just bought a 3Leaf Wonderlove from Jojobass. Really well packaged, arrived swiftly and the pedal is mint! Would happily do business again.
12. Pleasure doing business with Jack. Swift postage and good comms Oh and VERY well packaged!
13.
...not to mention the polyphony! I've had a K-Station for a few years and it is indeed a lovely thing. Still tempted by the new Novation Peak though....maybe one day I'll trade up, but I'm in no hurry
Ooh the peak looks amazing. Too much dough for me to be spending though, and if I did have that kind of cash to spare I'd probably go for something like a Roland JD-XA since it at least has a keyboard attached!
14. I'm seriously eyeing up this fretless: https://www.thomann.de/gb/marcus_miller_v7_swamp_ash_5_fl_ts.htm?ref=search_rslt_Sire_384273_15 I don't even play fretless!
15.
The two channel thing on the 500 doesn't do much for me as it just gain and volume variation, shares the same EQ as the other channel. Would be handy to be able to re-eq it on the second channel.
Ah, that's annoying. I assumed you could EQ a completely different sound onto the second channel.
16. An SKB for sale on this very forum - http://basschat.co.uk/topic/308528-fender-skb-bass-case-l60/page__pid__3333019#entry3333019
17. Excellent work! Let us know how you get on with it. A Sire may be on the horizon for me at some point too...
18. The best colour option in the V7 range imo. GLWTS.
19. The Aftershock is amazing! As is the Manta to be fair - so much so that I bought an MXR Bass Envelope Filter a couple of weeks ago thinking I was maybe missing some analog magic. Long story short I found that the Manta just sounds better and can do more. Still hasn't stopped me buying a 3Leaf Wonderlove from the classifieds though Really want Source Audio to put out an octave pedal. Now THAT would be interesting.
20. Ah so you've completely replaced your digital pedals with analog ones? I actually don't use the "traditional" battery option on any of my pedals - my main board is powered by two Rockboard LT XL lithium packs. I've tried to distribute the pedal load as evenly as possible between them so they discharge at the same rate. Seems to work so far! I was on the Thomann website the other day though and saw that they've released this: https://m.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_powerplant_powerbank.htm?ref=prod_rel_402975_4 Seems to be cheaper and has a good amount more capacity than my LT XLs while not being much bigger (can still fit under my boards). I may just buy one for my PT Nano+ and check it out. Though at that price I'm tempted to just take the plunge and get two since they may end up on my big board if they're noticeably better than the ones I'm using now.
