1. Imagine if someone chopped the tone knob out of your passive bass and stuck it in a pedal enclosure - does such a thing exist? Surely such a thing could be done? I ask because the previous owner of my BTB33 upgraded with preamp with an Aguilar OBP3 and an active/passive switch but when in passive the only controls that work are volume and pickup pan. No fancy "treble knob operates as passive tone" magic that I've heard folk speak of on basses. So a pedal like I've described above would be quite cool to have. Thoughts? I'm not looking for a wah pedal...

I'm almost certain you won't be able to update the firmware via an iPad. Gotta plug into a PC or Mac.
3. I think this is the nicest P bass I've ever seen.
4. I have no idea why EBS didn't release this along with the other two Reidmars in the first place. Although I suppose the 500 watt Class D market is pretty flooded as it is so maybe it wasn't a particular priority for them.
5. That ashdown rig looks lovely. I don't think I've seen one of them before. Certainly looks like a good option on paper given that the head and cab are included in the price but I guess you'll want to check out reviews. Also, are 15 inch speakers your thing?
6. Ampeg Portaflex PF-50T and keep one of your cabs? Has a dummy load feature so can be used standalone for recording. They're around £700 new from memory but no idea how often they come up on the used market.

Not too sure about your knob latency issue but regarding your mac not detecting the pedal, have you got the pedal powered externally with either a power supply or 9v battery? I'm pretty sure the pedal won't receive power via the USB and therefore the mac won't "see" anything to connect to. This is certainly the case when I connect any of my TC pedals to the TonePrint editor app on my iPad!
8. I too have wondered this as I'm about to sell my Roland Fa06. Thanks for the heads up on Gearslutz and SoS
9.
The BH 800 was a massive disappointment, no beans and the Toneprints I tried were just horribly synthetic. Plenty love 'em though.
This has me worried. I'm yet to properly gig mine! I never use the TonePrints though as my pedals have that covered.
10. The fretboard alone is a thing of beauty. You sir are a very lucky man.
11.
Can't remember where I got the idea but I use the standard Tortex ones with a hole punched through the middle (use a heavy duty office hole-punch - standard flimsy ones will just bend!). You wouldn't believe the difference it makes to the grip!
This is actually a genius idea! Sadly, I doubt I'll be able to squeeze my Big Stubbys into a hole punch
12. I use a Diago "gigman" board which is basically a solidly built briefcase with a nifty detachable top half, lockable latches and Velcro lining. It comes with a roll of the other side of Velcro for the bottom of your pedals. Definitely roadworthy but once you've loaded it with pedals it ain't light! The "gigman" model I have is the smallest in the range but might be slightly bigger than you're looking for unless you're thinking of expanding your pedal collection in the future? Have a look: So 7 pedals of varying size, plus a volume pedal and enough room spare for a power supply.
13. I'm a big TC freak - aside from my bass gear I run a lot of TC Helicon vocal gear and swear by it. But on the subject of bass amplification, I have a lot of love for my BH800. More power than I'll ever need, well thought out EQ section, small and light enough to fit in the front pocket of my bass case. I do prefer the overall sound of the BH range over the RH personally.
14. Argh, that body shape! I've always loved the look of these. A Bass Direct purchase by any chance?
15. I'm not usually a fan of black precisions but this one I strangely do enjoy. Hmmm...
16. I own a PJB BigHead and while it is truly excellent at what it does there are more feature-rich (and cheaper) options out there. I havent personally tried the B1ON but owned a B3 for a while and it was great. Serious Swiss Army knife for a bassist and completely gig-worthy too. The fact it is specifically designed for bass makes it hands down a better choice than a small mixer IMO. It's an apples vs oranges comparison though really. Phil Starr speaks the truth - as a general rule the aux in on most bass amps won't sound good at all but I guess that is pretty heavily dependent on how "full range" or "transparent" your amp/cabs are.
17. Was literally just about to PM you for the meatbox. You snooze you lose I suppose...
