  1. That’s a handsome beast! How does it feel/sound?
  2. The more I think about this the more I realise I can’t not get one I’ll likely wait for the initial bugs to be ironed out first though, and any hardware teething issues...
  3. The Aftershock has way more drive-specific control, as well as way more drive models which are designed to sound good standalone with a bass or guitar signal - many of which are modelled on actual pedals. In fact, it actually has a Bass Big Muff Pi model! So I’d be going with the Aftershock if I were you.
  4. The C4 does have some drive capabilities and, depending on your needs, it might be enough. The Aftershock has waaaaay more drive models and tweakable options though. I wouldn’t be using the C4 as a standalone distortion if I had other options, personally. Here are some screenshots of the C4’s drive parameters:
  5. Yep, an aftershock will be all the overdrive/distortion/fuzz you could ever need!
  6. In theory, yes. Should work. The C4 (or any other pedal) can’t tell how many adapters you’ve got running from point A to point B, so long as the relevant data is being transmitted.
  7. I think those suggesting Mono are forgetting that the OP specifically said they don’t want to spend a lot of money
  8. Not a clue - I was genuinely baffled. The photos don’t really do it justice!
  9. Although DMC sell their cable specifically labelled with the gHost name, it’s really just a bog standard USB adapter. As long as the cable has the correct connectors, it will work. @moley6knipe The top one in your image looks correct to me. “On the Go” is more a buzzword than anything else. It shouldn’t affect the cable’s compatibility with the C4.
  10. Yes, is the battery cover plastic or wood? And do the pickups have the Marcus Miller logo on them? It doesn’t look like the pickups have any writing on them from your photos but I can’t quite tell because I’m on my phone!
  11. Ah, yes, I have one of these also and they’re fantastic. Almost a hard case/gig bag hybrid. Incredibly sturdy!
  12. Bought one of these recently and I was frankly stunned at the quality for the price. Really really good: https://www.thomann.de/gb/thomann_e_bass_gigbag_premium.htm
  13. I had the same thing when trying to put up a “wanted” ad for a John East preamp on Facebook! I even added a photo. Ridiculous...
  14. I was thinking more cream pearl...
  15. I personally hated the BEF when I had it...sounded anemic compared to some of the other filters I’ve owned (mainly as it’s a bandpass filter rather than low pass!) others love it but for synth duties it just wasn’t fat enough for me. If you sold a couple of pedals a C4 would be easily attainable...!
  16. Hey buddy, You’ve got some good pedals there. Firstly, on your Octabvre Mini, turn the tone knob all the way to the right. This will give you the most harmonic-rich, honky tone to start with. If that doesn’t work, my main suggestion is to add an envelope filter between the Mastotron and the chorus. With the right settings, this will give you some squelch and bite that should really help you be heard. Putting the envelope filter after the fuzz/distortion keep the sound tight in my experience, but for something a bit more unruly try putting the filter in front of the fuzz. My personal favourite standalone envelope filter is the Mr. Black Fwonkbeta - it’s compact, simple and can get very nasty! Filters are very much a matter of personal taste so maybe watch some demos online to get a feel for what’s out there. Failing that, if you want a one pedal solution, I’d highly recommend getting a Source Audio C4 synth pedal. It’ll give you almost any synth sound you’re likely to need and has the potential to take over your octave, fuzz and filter pedal needs all in one compact unit.
  17. I think he may have meant chambered?
  18. Some powerhouse pedals here. if that C4 had come up a few weeks ago I’d have snapped it up! GLATS sir.
  19. Ah, I didn’t realise Elixir did bronze strings!
