  1. Oh bloody hell, that’s the second set of these I’ve missed today
  2. I’m just going to leave these here... Ignore my foot.
  3. I own two Dingwall Super Ps with Maple necks and one Dingwall Super P with an all wenge neck/board - in all honesty I’d advise not to think about any arguable differences in tone and instead concentrate on the look & feel of the wenge as the primary factors. Wenge feels lovely in the hand, with a more “natural” feel due to having a coarser, more open grain than maple. Basically, while maple necks feel totally smooth, wenge has a much more apparent grain to the touch, which is nice. If you were to string all of my Super Ps with the same strings, then blindfold me and have someone play them each one by one, I’m certain I would fail to correctly guess which was which.
  4. I thought this sold? Or am I going crazy?
  5. This is odd. I play using my Boss WL20 (the “L” version) all the time and have never detected any latency. Do you only notice the issue when playing back a recorded track? You don’t notice it when actually recording the line?
  6. Ooft. The colours remind me of a fine bourbon on the rocks
  7. This is potentially the one I played then! Very nice.
  8. These are great - played on at @thebassgallery last year and was genuinely surprised how good it was. I think at the time it may have been the first time I played a Fender Jazz, absurdly!
  9. Anyone else thinking Fender should do a Guy Pratt signature Jazz in roadworn burgundy mist?
  10. Ah, that makes sense. Come to think of it, when I bought my Yamaha BB735a new from Wunjo On Denmark Street the battery was plastic wrapped in a separate bag with the manual and truss rod allen key!
  11. I too have a set of Aguilars (5 string P with a humcancelling J) in my Wingbass and they’re really nice pups. Not cheap, but nice!
  12. That said, I’d predict most sellers (private ones at least) ship basses with batteries installed. In all honestly, who is policing this? Do couriers, who are already strapped for time trying to keep delivery schedules, really take the time to scan each parcel to ensure there are no batteries present? Anyway, back on topic - cool bass! And you’ve got one of the newer Dingwall cases too! Where did you order from, @artisan?
  13. Oh my god...
  14. Dunlop recently started producing a version of their Superbrights designed for Dingwall scale lengths. I believe Bass Direct have just got them in stock.
  15. The Yamaha BB range have 18mm string spacing too. They’re rather well-loved basses around these parts.
  16. My first ever bass was a 774. Such a great instrument - I was very lucky!
  17. Well the low E on the P4 is 34.25” so if anything it’s a reduced scale on the higher strings. It’s a slender neck (I’m used to 5s so that isn’t saying much) though I do know that the Super P4 necks are 42mm at the nut, a few mm chunkier than the Super J4s which are 38mm I believe. Frankly it feels tiny in my mammoth mitts regardless, probably in part due to being narrow front to back at 22mm. Apparently it’s a compound fingerboard radius too - 7 1/2” at the nut to 25” at the bridge. And it weighs 7lbs 6oz. No, that’s not a typo.
  18. That was brilliant. Great bassline and very watchable fellow. I knew nothing of Guy Pratt before this really so thanks!
  19. PM headed your way sir, lest this thread become a gushing wankfest for Dingwall basses.
  20. I have a problem
  21. Good god this is tempting!
  22. @therealting my new Super P4 is the little sibling to yours! On the right of this family shot:
