  1. Such a cool bass! I’m honoured to have had that sound clip named after me
  2. I’ve got a Razer Blade Pro 17” Absolute powerhouse machine that I use for everything. Gaming-wise I can run any AAA title on High or Ultra settings with no problems. It has a thunderbolt 3 port in addition to the usual USB ports so you can use thunderbolt 3 (and USB-C) audio interfaces like the Universal Audio Arrow or new Arturia Audiofuse range for example. It has a hybrid storage setup too. A 256gb SSD drive and a 2tb HDD. I’ve got a ton of files on it and I’m yet to run out of space, though I always install game files to the larger HDD to free up the SSD. To clarify, mine is the 2017 model with the trackpad off to the right of the keyboard. The newer 2019 model has the trackpad in the more traditional centre location and has different specs.
  3. Ohhh. My bad, sorry man! That’s a great price. I paid way more than that for my custom Wingbass. Prices are in $ but where are the basses made?
  4. Looks like a cool concept. Prices start at $1400 though, not $400!
  5. Didn’t realise the necks were so stunning on these
  6. Agreed 100%
  7. Ok. My opinion has shifted. Just watched this video and seen the charcoal + tort combo on a “real” bass. It looks amazing to be fair!
  8. Surely one of the best basses around for this sort of money. Really really lovely instrument. GLWTS!
  9. The Yamaha THR10 will sound fine with 4 string basses but if you have a low B in your arsenal then you may as well forget about it. I bought a PJB Double Four and haven’t looked back. If you want your bass to sound like bass in a package the size of a shoebox, theres is no better amp out there.
  10. I found this on my last gig with numbers like Papa Don’t Preach, except I found that I played best when I wasn’t really thinking about it. The moment I started to concentrate too hard it would all go tits up!
  11. Except that literally defeats the purpose of installing strap locks in the first place. Slightly worrying!
  12. I got Bright Onion to make me a custom pedal mixer a few years back. Reasonably priced and a pretty speedy build time, especially as it was one of three custom pedals I ordered together. Would recommend them highly.
  13. With the tort guard, I’d say silver all day long.
  14. Only because I’ve never used one and would be interested to hear your thoughts
  15. Noll. And I’d honestly suggest sticking with Maruszczyk’s own pickups - not only are they genuinely very good, they don’t incur an extra cost on the configuration!
  16. To be fair though, not all isolated PSUs are created equal. There are different means by which manufacturers isolate their outputs - I know there are switching power supplies and linear power supplies but I’m not particularly well-read on the differences between the two. So there’s a chance you’ll find different results between your Cioks and a One Spot + GigRig Isolator. The only way to find out is to try it I guess.
  17. The end result is the same technically, this method just allows you to get isolated outputs from a non-isolated PSU such as a One Spot.
  18. This is exactly what I did with my. Smoothhound back in the day, on a huge board full of analog and digital effects. Worked perfectly,
  19. This is less than I paid for mine, used! Good deal if you ask me.
  20. Carey Nordstrand made a P/MM for Dan Lutz with both pups nearer their native sweet spots:
  21. Not once on that product page is the word “bass” mentioned. The in-built cabinet simulation is designed to replicate guitar cabs. Personally, I’d steer clear and look elsewhere.
  22. I’m interested in this too - plenty of sellers over on Talkbass who only ship to the US & Canada so I’ve considered freight forwarding services in the past. Always been slightly scared to go through with it though!
  23. I’ve had Maruszczyk Nickel Rounds on my Dingwall Super P and really like them - they started out very bright and I had to take some of the edge off with the tone knob initially but they quickly settled down into a lovely mellower tone. Superb feel under the fingers too, for my taste. I preferred their tension and texture to D’Addario NYXLs. Obviously the Stainless rounds will feel and sound different but given my experience with the nickels I’d happily try the steels too. I’m actually tempted to give Maruszczyk’s flats a go as well!
