  1. Yep, in recent years Behringer have proven themselves to be capable of producing some pretty solid gear. Somewhat off-topic but their recent synth stuff in particular has been rather tasty.
  2. I would assume the difference in quality isn’t as much as the price would suggest, more due to Behringer’s ability to manufacture the product on a greater scale than Fischer - economies of scale. But having never used either product I’m purely speculating!
  3. A noble beast. I actually traded my matte black BB735a to Skinnyman of this parish a couple of months ago but I suspect I’ll own another at some point. I can’t think of a better bass for the money.
  4. It’s perfect for when I need more grind/bite and high mid push compared to my usual default clean patch. The sound guy is pleased as it does all of the above whilst retaining the low end nicely - the joy of crossed over highs and compressed lows on Helix! So far I’m using the patch on 9 to 5 (Dolly Parton), Papa Don’t Preach (Madonna), I’ll Be There For You (Rembrandts/Friends theme), Get Ready (Temptations), and there are a few numbers we haven’t started working on yet so there could well be one or two more
  5. @GisserD I’m using your “Amp Tone’z” Stomp patch on quite a few songs on my current Panto gig in Ipswich. It’s proving to work quite nicely in a mix! Special mention goes to the Yamaha DXR12s supplied to us by the sound crew. They sound great! My monitor comfortably fills the whole stage (and the whole rehearsal building!) with full fat bass.
  6. What a tune! Great playing too. I remember checking out those AG70 pups a while back and thinkin they sounded tasty.
  7. I’m beginning to think that none were ever sold sold in the UK and that they were always marked as “in stock with supplier” with most retailers. There seems to be zero trace of them existing on this side of the pond! I’ll keep my fingers crossed but will probably just spec something similar (ish) as a custom order from Dingwall next year
  8. I have been gassing hard for a Satin Jade Pearl Jazz V with the tort guard but, alas, they seem to be out of production and impossible to find anywhere other than the US (and even then it’s a struggle) One day...
  9. The perils of a black gloss finish. Televisions (and basses) have suffered the same fate for decades!
  10. This may be the best argument I’ve heard for the red model. I oft look down and recoil at the amount of dust sitting atop my Stomp.
  11. Black all day long. Seems like a needless decision on the part of Line 6 IMO, especially when there are already third parties making custom skins for the Helix products.
  12. If I had any need for this I’d snap it up! GLWTS sir.
  13. Bloody hell. This looks excellent. I shall add it to my Christmas list!
  14. He’s made a couple of shoreline gold Ps (one of which he’s personally keeping) which just look unreal.
  15. Yeah I believe he’s winding down production of custom shop basses, although he’s soon to launch his new Acinonyx basses inspired by the Goya Panther bass. If I recall, they’re going to be manufactured offshore (Indonesia?) so although he’s been putting a tremendous amount of time into R&D for the bass, once the design is complete there will be very little actual bass building taking place at Nordstrand HQ. He’s also just opened a restaurant called Ramen Song which is presumably taking up a good chunk of his time.
  16. How do the Labella Low Tension varieties compare in feel (and sound) to TI flats?
  17. I can’t see anything replacing my Dingwall Super Ps. Just the perfect basses for me, from the tone to the weight and the feel. Their build quality is second to none IMO. Bought both of mine second hand from noble BassChatters but I think I may well take the plunge and spec a brand new Dingwall Super J custom next year once I’ve finished my tour in August. If I had to keep only one, it would be my Dark Candy Red Super PJ recently acquired from Skinnyman of this parish:
